Private: Ahhh! (Is devoured by Thing and then copies Private)

(Fake Pritate takes out Skipper and Rico)

Kowalski: Hi guys, is everything fine now?

Everyone else: Rawwwwr!

Kowalski: (Activates the Ice Cream machine)

(The world is covered in a layer of Ice Cream as dense as a skyscrapper)

Thing is incapped.

Not really? In case they see creepy shit, their first task is to detonate explosives powerful enough to go way beyond their dura while they make an escape. They do that a lot in-character. They also resort to electricity at times so there's that too.

This would just need the Thing to be at 9-A now, but Penguins can put out more than enough stuff to make sure the Thing never comes back.

The previous knowledge makes this in favor of the penguins. As said before, their usual tactic is to throw explosives, escape and then regroup. However, and however, does the Thing have an opportunity to assimilate other life forms?

The penguins kinda need a big old explosion to stop all 4 of the Thing's at once. Besides, can an explosion cause complete cellular destruction? Cause remember, that's what's required to stop the Thing. A single cell making contact with one of the penguins is more than enough to put em down.
