The Legend of Zelda General Discussion

i have roughly played only 3 Zelda games

Oracle of Seasons,Majora's Mask,Hyrule Warriors

and i have to admit, that was more than a decade ago for the former two

i have been recently itching to get into the rest of the series

been thinking of buying Majora's Mask and Ocarina of time on the 3DS as i have very fond memories of Majora's mask

This game is a very good Zelda game (and also he is like ALTTP but better), and just one suggestion before playing: Do not save your death.

Majora's Mask is one of my favorites; the only ones that beat in IMO are Breath of the Wild, A Link to the Past, and Skyward Sword. Ocarina of Time, while still a Masterpiece, is a little overrated to me. My primary criticism is how insultingly easy it is compared to other Zelda games. Then again, I notice a lot of times the easier entries in various Classic franchises tend to be the most popular. Likely because actual Hardcore gamers like me are actually a minority tbh.

T_T been burning to play BOTW for over a year now

I've also 100% it on both difficulties, and it has given me an immense hatred for Koroks. I can still hear the distant cries of YAHAHA in my nightmares.

ALBW is easily one of my favorites games as well. It's basically ALTTP, which was acclaimed to be one of the best Zelda games, but better and with actual lore (seriously, in ALTTP you can help an old man and he gives you an item that lets you come back from the Dark World, where tons of people are trapped there. Luckily, this doesn't happen in ALBW).

That's why I haven't completed BOTW 100%. It already took me two months (summer time cause I bought the Switch June 2017) just to finish it via doing every shrine and exploring it as much as I could. And I finish most Zelda games in two week generally. 100%.

I've been thinking for a while, why not propose an entry for Manga Link (Composite)?

Given his stories and feats are considered retellings different enough to not be added to game Link, then he could work as his own character. I dunno, just for kicks, and he seems pretty crazy powerful too so it could be fun.

That would be interesting, but I'm not sure if it would be accepted. We also need to decide which author. Also, given that we cannot scale him fom the games and has much less equipment, he'd be just weaker and less haxed composite.

The manga TLOZ are all from the same authors.

Also the manga version have different powers that the originals doesn't have.

And after having this Kirby, I don't see why this would be refused.

Even if Low 2-C Majora isn't canon to the Majora who fight Link in the manga

No, they aren't. Even if most are from the same one.

True.

No idea either

Even if it were canon, it wouldn't scale as Majora was sealed.

I don't know if having different authors would be that much of an issue. There must be a lot of characters in this wiki that come from franchises with several authors. I mean, I could be wrong, but, for example, Expanded Universe Star Wars has a ton of authors and just some balancing is needed for Luke and others to have their profiles. Why not try the same with manga Link? Seems pretty harmless as well. it's not changing the entire verse or anything.

Hey guys! I thought up a hypothetical, and I was wondering what you guys would think.

Now, you may or may not know, but the original religion for The Legend of Zelda was supposed to be Christianity, here's a wiki page about it.

So I was wondering, how would the series have turned out if Christianity stayed the religion of the series?

The Golden Goddesses are iconic, and their presence in each and every Zelda game is ubiquitous. But what if, instead of the Golden Goddesses, it was the Holy Trinity that pulls the strings of Fate for our elf-like protagonist?

Thoughts?

Why can't we just make a composite of Himekawa ones? The others mangas Zelda know are very different, and they don't really have reals feats.

Being made in the late 80s and early 90s it would have been censored completely for western release, especially given how touchy Nintendo was with adult content back then. We'd probably gotten made up gods anyways. Or worse, no release until much later due to said content.

Aside that... well, Link as a new Messiah, Ganon as the Antichrist, Demise as Satan, Hilya as God?

The whole mythology would have been turned upside its own head from what we have now, that's for sure. Perhaps the aesthetic would have matched the real life europe middle ages more closely and we'd be closer to dark fantasy? I dunno.

I had similar thoughts myself, and I think the idea is quite an interesting one.

1) Netflix Family-Friendly-Game-of-Thrones-esque Zelda tv show all over again.

2) I thought the dude wanted to do Metroid?

While I would personally prefer a Zelda series over a Metroid one (it's the only one out of the big four to not have its own series that wasn't coupled together with another), I was expecting the latter first.

I have always wanted a TLoZ movie or series.

There was a Zelda cartoon series that was 13 episodes long, and a no budget Zelda Movie called the Hero of Time.

I personally liked Hero of Time, not great, but it was fairly decent.

I miss Dusk Golem, his reaction to that trailer was funny as were his other Zelda Randomness videos.
