Game mechanics.
Water Temple says hi. Changing your weight to float or sink is the main mechanic of the dungeon.

And generally, Link has seriously too many things he shouldn't be capable of carring around all of them, like the spinner, the ball and chain, set of tunics etc.

"The only logical explanation"

Well, unless we have any confirmation of it, lets not add stuff that is clearly game mechanics.

Well, that's why I stated I was neutral and not agreeing. Maybe BOTW stated something about Link's pouch being magical, but I need to check that.

Ahh... the boxart that started it all.

Flashback to Aug. 7th:

"Twilight Princess.

I remember it vividly.

I was at my local library looking at the next game I wanted to borrow. I stumbled upon Twilight Princess. What captured my attention immediately was the name. The 'sensational' Twilight Saga series was popular around that time and the title made instantly think of that series and laugh.

After my initial reaction, I looked at the artwork on the cover, and instantly I became ensnared. I loved the gothic dark anime art style-it was gorgeous and still is-and I decided...why not? I brought the game home and started to play it.

And then something unexplainable happened.

When I was rounding up the goats I was bombarded with an overwhelming sense of Déj├á vu, and I couldn't-and still can't-determine why though. I felt like I played this game before, that I was doing a motion I knew I did a thousand times, but I hadn't. Playing this game just felt...right.

A sense of impossible nostalgia overtook my young mind, and I knew, I was hooked.

I went on to make it to the Lakebed Temple. Sadly, the layout was too grand and complex for my dumb seven-year-old mind to figure out. My free rental time had expired and I had to return the game to the Library. I continued to sporadically borrow the game from the Library and after a few years, when my mind matured, I beat the Lakebed Temple, obtained the Master Sword, and defeated both Ganondorf and the game. I had conquered the seemingly impossible challenge.

And throughout all those years from when I first played Twilight Princess to the time when I put it down after I victoriously slayed the King of Evil. I had scoured the internet to fill my useless brain up with everything Zelda related. The other games in the franchise, the theories, the cartoon show and CD-i games, the timeline, absolutely everything. I bought Twilight Princess and other Zelda games and completed them 100% numerous times and continue to do so annually out of a sense of love for the series (Sans Breath of the Wild. I 100% completed that game on Normal and Master Mode. Once was enough and I refuse to do so again). Anyway...

This game.

This damn game.

This game, that made me feel impossible sensations, this game, that opened up a whole universe that enticed me at every turn and still does so to this day. This game, the one that started it all.

This game is the reason why this series became my favorite video game franchise of all time. And it all started on that day in 2008, back when I hadn't a care in the world.

I am grateful for that day."

People hate Skyward way too much for no reason.

"Better design than Twilight Princess But it has a gyroscope so it's bad I guess...

Hurts to know everybody mercilessly hates such a good game when VR is being praised for innovation Yet you have the simplest of Switch motion controls in Mario Odyssey and everyone's like 'bummer'"

Besides the first sentence (TP is my favorite Zelda game), this tweet sums up my opinion to a t.

Can you believe Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword came out within the same days as each other?

Also @Cal ^^^^

Skyward Sword has my favorite combat in the series to date.

Speed-running Ghirahim fights and Demise are just so much fun.

I did the first Ghirahim fight in 16 seconds or so.

Have you guys ever noticed every time a 3D Zelda comes out people will love it but when the next one comes out it gets a hate following?

No.

All Zelda games go like this.

Initially, they receive critical and commercial praise, and then shortly afterward the hate mob builds up until everyone's opinion did a 180 and now everyone hates it. And throughout the coming years, people lower the hate and relize how much they love the game and what a classic it was.

Yeah... it's known as the Zelda cycle. Has been like that since OoT I think, with Majora's Mask being the first victim IIRC.

Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild... I have a lot of catching up to do.

I remember when people used to consider Majora's Mask as the "black sheep" of the franchise.

Now, everyone praises it - as they should,

The fact that TP has Midna in it automatically makes it the best.
Twilight Prciness is the best Zelda for me as well, even though Breath of the Wild comes very close. Honorable mentions include Skyward Sword, Wind Waker and A Link to the Past.
