The Bizzare Rating of the Jojo OVA

we need to have the boat calc be calculated first because the cloud feat can be questioned if its part of the OVA Crusaders timeline

A bit busy at the moment but just gonna point a few things out here for now.
  1. Uses an outdated cloud dispersion formula (used .5 instead of 1/12 since it was made before the update)
  2. Cloud height is really oversized from what I can tell because they used angsizing from POV to the mountain despite the clouds being way below the POV
  3. Radius is somewhat off but that's less on them since the overall oval is weirdly proportioned
Not even gonna comment on blast radius formula
 
There's really no reason the Phantom Blood OVA shouldn't be viewed as canon in the A.P.P.P. universe if you ask me. Not only are the moments we essentially know happened in the OVA more or less shown in the Part 3 OVA, but we even have DIO himself call back to taking the body of Jonathan Joestar. In regards to Part 1 OVA feats, I've noticed there's some things that can be used for scaling, albeit with the side effect of not being able to be as specific regarding the fights themselves:

THIS INFORMATION IS BASED OFF OFFICIAL FOOTAGE AND JAPANESE BLOGS FROM THOSE WHO SAW THE FILM WHEN IT WAS IN THEATRES
-At the beginning of the movie, Tonpetty and Zeppeli use Hamon to perform the cloud feat. This was meant to show us a bit of Zeppeli's origin early on which is confirmed to be the case in the blogs of those who saw the film
-By the time where Jonathan meets Zeppeli, its pretty fair to say the guy's a lot better with Hamon compared to when he performed the feat with Tonpetty. The movie is said to portray Zeppeli as fairly proficient in combat, though I guess that's not much of a surprise. Jonathan, Dio, and Zeppeli battle. Zeppeli is killed by Dio forming an ice spike from the ground that pierces him. Jonathan is given Zeppeli's life energy
-Jonathan defeats Dio, but then gets his body taken over on the boat like in the manga
-In regards to Hamon, some have defined it strictly as a "fighting energy" in the OVA. I don't think this is entirely true. In official clips, we see Zeppeli do the frog punch, which is a scene that doesn't really work if the Ripple just made you punch harder. The opening scene with the clouds also shows it can be applied in more ways than just physical attacks. It also appears to be capable of giving off large amounts of heat given Jonathan uses it to free himself of the ice on his arm. This is supported by the fact that Dio says to Zeppeli that he can't use the Ripple if his body is frozen when using the freezing technique. Overall, it doesn't really contradict Joseph's uses of Hamon in the Part 3 OVA based on what we know. The Ripple generally isn't explained in the movie and you mostly just know how some of the scenes work if you read the manga

This is pretty much anything relevant to the profiles/vs stuff I could pull from confirmed stuff. We should still evaluate feats from the Part 3 OVA as a main priority for Jotaro's page, but the conclusion regarding the Part 1 movie is that Jonathan and Dio do in fact scale to Zeppeli. An additional fun detail is that we actually have storyboards for Part 2 on the Part 3 OVA's DVD. Its narrated over to explain the events leading up to Stardust Crusaders. This isn't VS battles relevant, just some fun trivia

These same people also claim that Araki hates the movie despite there being absolutely no sources for that. Hm. Funny
 
Oh right. One feat I forgot is that Dio straight up creates Windknight's Lot with his Vampire Powers. We have a picture of it in the OVA, but there's no way we can reliably calc it due to a lack of footage. The moment itself seemed to confuse the blog posters who saw the movie given it strays off the path of Dio's powers in the manga along with how originally, he simply occupies the castle as it already exists
