Thanos' Power Stone has AOE attacks so he can simultaneously take on all the paths of Pain with his superior strength. The only thing I can see Pain winning with is either Soul steal or Chibaku Tensei, but Thanos has been able to keep multiple opponents at a distance easily so Soul Steal won't be easy. As for Chibaku Tensei, Power Stone can either destroy or if he gets caught in it, then he can use the Space Stone to Teleport. He can even BFR some of them or make them intangible and incapacitate them into the ground or something. Just seeing Thanos have more win cons than Pain here.

Thanos freezes them all in localized space and beats them like a piñata with the power stone. CT is a non-factor, dude stripped the moon and used the rocks as meteors.

When would Pain go and use Chibaku Tensei in the fight???? Chibaku Tensei is his main wincon as if he uses it Thanos is screwed.

IIRC this Nagato (Crippled) doesn't use CT immediately because it is very Chakra Taxing, and instead relies mostly on summons and his Path's coordination

CT has greater LS than Thanos, so Thanos cannot clench his fist and may not be able to move if he gets trapped in it

Thanos could just close his fist before getting stuck in the CT though? If Naruto, Itachi, and Killer B all had time to create Jutsu as they were floating towards the CT then Thanos could close his fist as well

Yeah, he doesn't get instantly pulled into it, hell Kyubi Cloak Naruto was able to launch multiple blasts before being pulled by the Chibaku Tensei. Thanos could just destroy it with the Power Stone or even move it since he can do that with large meteors.

Speaking of meteors, if the fight ends up getting too long, Can't Thanos be able to chuck meteors off the moon and throw it onto the area?? He did it on Titan

If he gets pushed back a lot then yeah, he can definitely do that, the Power and Space Stone is all he needs to do that.

Ehh, if Thanos can deal with CT (Which is pain's best wincon), Thanos should take this:
He has an AP/Durability advantage, has enough abilities with the stones (Intangibility + Fusionism, TK, Black Holes, Power Null, Energy Blasts which strike multiple people, Absorption).
Main thing Pain has is his teamwork and his clones, which is a massive problem, but I think Thanos would be able to use abilities shown above to deal with them plus his Durability and Endurance advantage means he would be able to tank a fair amount of hits, and the fact Thanos has ways to deal with CT before he gets sucked in such as simply blowing it up with the power stone.
And, if the fight goes on too long and the pain's are overwhelming him, he may just throw the meteors again which would decimate them
