Tatsumaki thinks Merlin to death
0114-010.png

Her bfr from what I’m seeing is her sending peeps to thousands of miles away. Which Tats can deal by just flying back or use her thousand km tk

Merlin has a few ways to win this:

Automatic seeking + traps, will create endless elemental traps that are triggered by Tatsumaki’s movements and « magic invocations » and using double impact on top of that will allow her to negate Tatsumaki’s resistances

Trapping her inside of Perfect Cube, Tatsumaki can’t really get out of it and will take her own abilities reflected back at her if she tries to attack it

Absolute cancel, she can just null Tatsumaki’s TK + her infinity allow her to cast spells infinitely

She has interdimensional range

Regarding tk Merlin just absolute cancels it

Merlin won't directly bfr until Interdimensional except under certain conditions.

But some of Merlin's wincons are quite numerous, Tats will be hit by double impact, it's enough.

Bfr is her first move though she would also teleport herself away from danger like against Zeldris omnious nebula. Would telekinesis stop instant teleportation? I think not

But she spam teleports like she did to Vivian in other words Tatsumaki wouldn’t be able to focus and use TK when being spam teleported across the map.

Merlin often start by protecting herself with perfect cube which would null TK

Once she has knowledge about that deadly tk she will just absolute cancel it on repeat

Tatsumaki would detect and deflect them.
Trapping her inside of Perfect Cube, Tatsumaki can’t really get out of it and will take her own abilities reflected back at her if she tries to attack it
Tatsumaki has a direct counter to this.
Absolute cancel, she can just null Tatsumaki’s TK +
Tatsumaki can do the same.

Honestly the victor depends on which hax or ability hits the hardest.

Since Merlin has that perfect cube which would defend herself from Tatsumaki's attacks, and given she is Moon level with with certain magic (Though that depends if she needs to use it). And also her hax can prove a pain for Tatsumaki since Merlin has a pot of abilities to use.

But Tatsumaki has higher LS which is Class E and she can think and twist Merlin's body as I recall she often starts out like that. Or she would grab Merlin with her mind and throw her into a building and create tornadoes with her powers.

Tatsumaki would detect and deflect them.
Can’t deflect them they just activate whenever she uses any type of power

They are « invisible and impossible to detect »
She can reverse her own barrier that has been corrupted not something that just deflect every form of magic
Overpowering something massively weaker than you ≠ nullifying any spell no matter how powerful

Honestly the victor depends on which hax or ability hits the hardest.
Merlin has 5-C attacks and could hurt Cath a 5-C being (at least) with basic lightnings

Merlin can defend against Tatsu’s TK using TP and absolute cancel

Tatsu can’t defend against her infinite traps

Tatsu could defend herself against that same TK grab and null it before it killed her.

Merlin can insta null it

Merlin’s teleportation is thought based
Tatsumaki can erase Merlin instantly, which is a starting move. Not only would Merlin not just randomly teleport away in the beginning of the match, but she'd have to first process that she's being crushed, then somehow figure out Tatsumaki's max range, and then move the appropriate distance. The level of metal gymnastics needed to say that Merlin can do all of that before Tatsumaki can even think at equalized speed is astounding.

Like I said before this would just be same as galand petrifying her. She would just transfer herself to her sacred treasure

Merlin can just BFR Tatsumaki like she did to Galand and Vivian it’s a thought based hax and also spam teleportation would affect Tatsumaki concentration which is essential for using telekinesis.

Merlin has this:

So even if she is destroyed before doing anything, she will just move to another container and probably do some preparation considering what she saw from Tatsumaki.
but the scan says before I got petrified
we are assuming tats rips her apart first

Based on what's been said so far, Merlin has a lot of first move options. Some win immediately (interdimensional BFR) and some don't win immediately.

Tatsumaki only really has one first move. It will always kill her. Merlin has no counter to thought-based TK crush into oblivion.

Thus, Tatsumaki already wins at minimum 50% of the time since her first move will always just completely destroy Merlin.

At the very best the match is inconclusive as a result. Tatsumaki and Merlin both have thought based instant win options.

However, Merlin's apparent versatility actually hinders her here.

Say that she uses that thought based win con 95% of the time. That other 5% of the time, Tatsumaki wins with her thought based thing, thus ultimately tipping the overall odds in her favor. And that's a generous assumption.

I vote Tatsumaki as a result. She has one, simple opening move, and it works.
