WC drive knight twist has good foreshadowing and hints
Show the scene
It's in the manga
This is a very jumbled story isn’t itAnyway here are my thoughts about the chapter and really about something that irks me a little about the webcomic, nothing too bad though.
I liked this new WC chapter but it shows a few faults that irk me a little when reading it.
I feel like ONE relies too much on the audience having read the manga already to make some developments seem more "natural" than they actually are. Which, fair, might as well capitalize on that but it makes it harder to appreciate the WC narrative as its own thing and precisely in this chapter we have the two biggest examples of it.
Kuseno: He is a character that is absent for 98% of the WC and after his "death" its revealed he was actually a twist villain the whole time
Is it cool? Hell yeah
But one can't help but feel this is a rather sudden twist that should have gotten not only more set up but actually time to familiarize ourselves more with Kuseno before his "death". Like come on, he literally just finishes introducing himself in the same chapter he fakes his death.
ONE is aware of this issue, that's why he made him appear earlier in the manga in the Hotpot chapter and he overall has gotten more attention though it wouldn't hurt to give him further screentime before the reveal.
Drive Knight: In the WC he dissapears from the story for 100 chapters, comes back, shows off his forms against some fodder monsters and now its revealed he was a Robot the whole time and a pawn of Kuseno.
Again, cool but this is all rather sudden...
Most of the theorycrafting and hype around him came from ONE deciding to include him in the MA arc in the manga, letting him not only show off his powers but also sprinkling a few hints of his motives, methods and even a possible allegiance to the Organization...
And when Drive Knight fused with Genos that wasn't only cool but raised some eyebrows, not only are they somehow able to do that but their Cores look extremely similar.
So when this reveal happens it's really a payoff to people who theorized about the things he was shown to do in the manga rather than the webcomic
I've personally always treated the WC as a draft that is then properly fleshed out in the manga so it doesn't bother me that much but it's something that I've noticed and makes trying to evaluate the WC on it's own merits almost impossible.
It does make it pretty amusing to see the wc elitist types celebrating something that really only works thanks to the manga supposed "unnecessary fluff" though lol
I do agree with that.Anyway here are my thoughts about the chapter and really about something that irks me a little about the webcomic, nothing too bad though.

WC is still amazing on its own, and frankly, about time they get their profiles
Also waiting for the databook so G5 lasers can be confirmed :dInevitable Orochi upgrade this december![]()
Orochi pulls out a gigantic milk shake straw and then takes 3 minutes to pull the magma out.Ok but what if Orochi sucking up magma is a 3 frame looped cut repeating for 20 seconds thus giving us a downgrade.
Oddly enough, people would argue to not use the anime's version if, whatever it may be its timeframe, results in a downgradeOk but what if Orochi sucking up magma is a 3 frame looped cut repeating for 20 seconds thus giving us a downgrade.
I think that this season of the anime adaptation is so bad that it shouldn't be relied on for feats in general tbh.Oddly enough, people would argue to not use the anime's version if, whatever it may be its timeframe, results in a downgrade
What matters is higher numbers
If the anime gave us smaller cities than the manga, it wouldn't ever be used aswell
Nah, they are saving animation into a huge animation spirit bomb. It will land. Eventually.I think that this season of the anime adaptation is so bad that it shouldn't be relied on for feats in general tbh.
Ok so Orochi starts doing it at the start of the episode and then we cut back to another scene for the rest of the episode and the the attack happens. Time frame 20 minutes.Rn the timeframe is 30 seconds, so that'd still be an upgrade
Isn't total energy just KE + PE? We use the latter for Orochi afaik. So it is impossible for anime to downgrade him regardless of timeframe. The current idea is that anime timeframe would be enough of upgrade to trivialize PE but it is not like it would be entirely discarded.Oddly enough, people would argue to not use the anime's version if, whatever it may be its timeframe, results in a downgrade

Not if it's longer than a minute iirc.Isn't total energy just KE + PE? We currently use PE for Orochi afaik. So it is impossible for anime to downgrade him regardless of timeframe.
You misunderstand me. Even if timeframe was the entire duration of the episode, it wouldn't suddenly negate potential energy coming from the feat. Not if it's longer than a minute iirc.
People couldn't agree on timeframe and decided the results were too high to be used anywayThough, why was the KE version rejected anyway?
I think its intentional to make the impact and gore pop out more but it could use tweaking yeaSnip
I also don’t think One and Murata are too involved anyway, I haven’t seen any statements from them other than basic “oh man 3rd season” before it actually released.I think that this season of the anime adaptation is so bad that it shouldn't be relied on for feats in general tbh.
an army of dragon level monsters and Orochi does not exist in the webcomicthe monsters being stronger than the MA is a big doubt ngl , i assume all of these monsters that started appearing are made using orochi cell DK took + cybernatic enhancements
Drive Knight got samples like Nyan and Orochi, so his fight against Saitama in the manga should be more interestingThe weird part is DK very actively not only participared in collecting DNA samples and getring info on the monsters but also directly saw her in prime and then fought and got a sample of Psykorochi.
So you can't even say he's underestimating them.
Drive Knight took a piece of Psykorochi in the manga so its actually believableIf this statement is kept in the manga it would be pretty crazy
