Yeah guys Saitama TOTALLY wasn't serious and trying to kill Garou when the whole point of killing Genos was to draw his full power for Garou to copy and the narrator states directly that he underwent an surge of emotion due to Genos death not to mention the several panels of Saitama being genuinely pissed off...
He was going all out and serious. but he wasn't
"Underwent a surge of emotions"that does not say he was at full power, if he was going all out, he should have killed Garou, either in the middle of the fight or at the end of the fight (and we know his growth is so great he surpassed Garou in a very short time)
Going all out, being serious =/= killing. Saitama showed many times that he wasn't going to kill Garou. Saitama at the END of the battle did hold back though, like Garou said, he could kill him if he wanted at that point.

That is what i am trying yo say

he didn't consider himself one because he was late, not because he was not Deep down a hero, Saitama is not a anti-hero, he is a hero (flawed but still hero)
The entire point of that scene was that Saitama was so angry at himself for not being there in time that he threw away all restraints. He was going to blow up the planet. He simply did not care anymore.

Which again, that is a problem he himself has, but he is still a hero at end by not killing Garou, Saitama thinks very low on himself (outside of the power off course)he thinks he is not a hero because he is to late, he thinks he has no emotions, he seemingly wanted to die when he was 22, he has problems to make relations with some people (minud King, mumen rider and Genos...probably manako too)and almost all heroes (not all of them) are very egotistical and are so full of themselfs, they think they are the greatests and invincible, until they are shown they are not invincible and some of them fall, some of them surpass themselfs and accept that they are not invincible, and that is fine.
He in other hand, is invincible, and hates himself.

Except you're still wrong.

Garou wasn't killed in the end because Saitama was a hero, however when the initial Serious Punch was thrown, he didn't consider himself to be one. Up until they left Io, Saitama seriously intended to kill Garou.
Saitama says he doesn't have a hero's intuition. which didn't change even at the ending. he's a hero even though he doesn't have a hero's intuition. When they landed to IO, Garou says they should find a way to go back, which Saitama says they'll think of it after he beats him. Sure i might be wrong as well, i just think it's possible he used SP there because Blast was there and that he wasn't going for the kill.

...why? What's the point of it? just sounds like a unrelated sad backstory

Tbh, I feel like Saitama will end up having some kind of unconventional empathic Manipulation resistance.

When fighting Garou, he started pissed af, and the stronger he got, the less importance he gave to Genos' death or the fight in general (to the point that before the Serious Sneeze he had his usual, bored face worrying about his outfit and not about Garou). This aligns with Saitama saying that when he got so strong he lost something that made him Human

Blastrangers will come and take Blast and Void to another place(anywhere except Earth) Blast will finally start to use blasts. otherwise he doesn't deserve that name.
Blast definitely needs to be Blasting more in this fight. Bang did bang quite a bit back in his day so it's only fair if Blast keeps earning his name.
