Tayuya's Worms are specifically said to be made of mostly Mental Energy. They're not Spirits.

And Dan Kato's Jutsu turns him into a ghost. This is the cause of his jutsu.

Not to mention Chakra is specifically Mental Energy + Physical Energy.

And if it wasn't obvious I also disagree as well.

Kato literally uses Ninjutsu (or Hijutsu, I don't remember!) to become a ghost and Tayuya's invocation are basically ghosts, and act as one, being intangible and hitting the target without physically hurting it.

The point is that ... The spiritual/mental energy in Naruto acts like all the others, as well as its definition. So it makes no difference! And chakra has already been shown to be connected to the spirit world. So I have nothing to add to it anymore.
