I'm assuming Ridley tanked it because he was crippled, couldnt exactly run away 100s of kilometers and the time span seems to quick, may not have been extracted in time, and considering the explosion happened almost right afte she fought Ridley? Its possible.

Forgot about Kraid honestly.
 
He'd scale in ap to whatever base Samus or Ridley are at.

Durable woukd be higher, if he's on par with MB's shield, which take super missiles to break then yeah, also shrugged off power beams so his dura is far above his AP.
 
Ah I see, though I think you're confusing an anti-optical shield with the Zebetite Planetary Defense Shield.

Nah, he was already defeated, canonically burned alive, not to mention we don't see Ridley's Lair be affected by the blast.

Exactly, he was burned alive, defeated and probably couldn't escape the blast.

Problem there is that the explosion was huge, it literally could not have hit him if he was in his lair.
 
On a side note shouldn't Samus have resistance to energy absorbtion?

We see in Samus Returns a Metroid leeching off her armor against MB without stopping fighting and Ridley gets leeched by the baby metroid yet comes right back to fighting in seconds. Yet we see on multiple occasions metroid completely husk their prey in seconds on multiple occasions.

Ridley probably didn't get turned into a husk like everything else because the Baby wasn't fully matured and it couldn't leech as much life force as fully matured Metroids (as mature as a larval Metroid can get anyway). The health that Samus receives from the Baby is whatever it can grab before Ridley shakes the Baby off.

We don't actually know where Norfair is in comparison to the new Tourian due to the elevators.

From what we know, there are no differences between matured and baby metroids in terms of energy succ, however, the speed at which Ridley began to change when getting succ'd is quite faster than Samus.
 
Did you guys take into consideration the new aieon abilities samus got in samus returns? A notable one is the ability to slow down time, which is pretty substantial
 
The calc stillllll hasn't been accepted by any calc members, even if it is a fundamentally basic calc, I would prefer it to be checked.

I don't really know if most of the suits should get the MFTL+ rating however.

Gravity Suit has two MFTL+ scalings (To Post-Corruption Ridley and Proteus Ridley respectively.)

Legendary Varia Suit has one MFTL+ scaling (To Meta Ridley, who was notably weaker.)

Legendary Power Suit has one MFTL+ feat (The Shinespark in Space battle.)

The Power suit one can be an outlier, and the Varia Suit one is questionable due to Ridley being weaker. The Gravity Suit's scaling looks fine tho.
 
Since you are an administrator, and it is an important character, you can ask all of the calc group members to evaluate it if you wish.
 
Well, I personally think Legendary Varia Suit Samus should scale, Meta Ridley may be weaker than he was in Prime 1, but he should still be at least comparable to Post-Corruption Mission Ridley. Plus she still has other dubious MFTL+ combat speed feats; I know Gorea and Phantoon were in weakened states, but mainly applies to their raw power, not their minds. It doesn't quite mean they aren't capable of reacting at their original speeds.

As for the basic Power Suit Samus, I can agree that it does seem outlandish, but if Samus is capable of effectively piloting her gunship, wouldn't she need MFTL+ combat and reaction speed in order to effectively control it in the first place? We scaled various Marvel and DC characters combat speed to their flight speeds for similar reasons; particularly Green Lantern driving a MFTL+ car through space. I'll trust whatever @SomeBodyData judgements are since he's the primary Metroid expert, but I don't quite think having combat and reaction speed that high is out of the question.
 
I noticed something, ya said we can't give Ridley the durability of the bomb right because we dont know where touruan is in regards to norfair.

The bomb if it goes off, hits you anywhere on the map correct?

Did we not accept multi continental zelda for the same reason?
 
I thought we had MFTL+ Green Latern for another reason? I have doubts that driving the ship would be MFTL+ but Gorea and Phantoon also make sense, so Varia Suit Samus probably also is MFTL+.

@J-Man thats defintiely game mechanics, as we see the rest of Zebes relatively undamaged. Not sure about the Zelda one, but you should probably ask Cal about that.
 
We had the major moon drop accepted for like two years on the reason being, when the moon crashed it hits anywhere on the map, even underground in the game over cut scene like in zoras domain.
 
Idk the context but wasn´t the moon crashing canonically going to destroy everything? That´s probably the biggest factor.
 
Yeah, gonna have to disagree with ya there, Zebes outside of Tourian was pretty much intact with zero damage, so it's a pretty heavy game mechanic, again not sure about the circumstances behind Majora, but if it's the same then should be talked about. (Still pretty sure it's about the ke of the moon crashing.)
 
The ke of the moon crashing is nothing, the cakc was.fine assuming it cratered and melted all of termina.

Also the zebes bomb kinda engulfed 300+km in a cutscene, yet the surface had not a speck of damage either.
 
"Yawn", well, the abilities were already added.

You guys are still debating about her speed and the calc, if I'm not lost?

Doesn't look like anyone commented on SomeBodyData's blog yet, but Cal's a calc group member, he could take a look and share his thoughts.

As for the piloting the MFTL+ Gunship, can agree that simply pitoting it isn't MFTL+ reactions, but effectively performing U-turns and 90 degree turns while simultaneously moving at said speed would scale to combat speed and reactions; that was what sounded like the reason for scaling Green Lantern's combat speed to his flight speed to be accepted. Though, I'm unsure if Samus ever performed said turns.

However, speed booster as mentioned above, is the only power up confirmed to enhance Samus's speed. And even then, it applies to movement speed; there's no indication that Samus's mind and reflexes drop significantly when she looses any of her suits. And of course, she still does have numerous MFTL+ combat speed feats.

That's great news, and her 5-B key will have a speed upgrade to MFTL+?
