RWBY Vol 9 General Discussion Thread: Multiverse Of Therapy

All I noticed was that at some point, they become comet-like and their acceleration increases dramatically, but we don’t have a great timeframe for that — the best we have for that is Neo’s. Still, calculating that short snippet could yield some interesting results, especially going under the assumption that the big hole she landed in wasn’t there already.

Although, being reminded of the days of constantly feeling embarrassed for liking this show and getting lambasted for it in turn is starting to take it’s toll on me, with Ruby vs Maka around the corner as well. So I would like to take a quick refresher into my other hyperfixations for the moment. That’s all I got.

Can't say I blame you: now that DB is independant, not even RT bias can save Ruby anymore. Though now I'm curious, what other things are you into?

A lot of cartoon verses honestly.

Fighting games as well. Trying to get into BlazBlue a little more cause of Cross Tag and the fact that it’s the reason why like three of the other series that I like crossed over with each other lmao.

What do you mean? I’m confused. Also I will say that I don’t think Neo made that crater. In a shot where the Jabberwalker looks back on the impact, we can see that the crator was already there.

I didnt say she made the crater, she falls at fast enough speeds to have a heat cone and hits the ground landing on her feet which is LS
 
Would the Deathstalker obliterating the cave while chasing Pyrrha in Volume 1 get any decent results? At worst consistency would be nice.

Now if you're expecting me to contribute to the current feed of these monthly CRTs, this is not one of them. I will explain why. So over a year ago, I made this I wouldn't call it a traditional recalc per se, but results definitely shifted in comparison to the one on the verse page. I also got...

Gotten around to finally getting this out.
 
So, my next CRT will be about scaling the main cast to Oscar's shield. For me, I think it's pretty simple. Oscar uses his own magic to protected himself against the Long memory blast. Oscar uses the same magic to try and blast Salem. It doesn't do jack shit. Yang's sticky bombs, however, blow her chest wide open. Elm and Vine have taken those same bombs and lived.

In addition, Oscar's magic would be below that of a maiden anyway. One: Because he was literally killed by Cinder, and two: Ozpin's aoverall magic has been lower than a maiden's in a while due to every reincarnation leaking out magic from when he shared it with the OG maidens.

Please let me know what you guys think. This is a rough draft of my argument so I'd really like some thoughts.

No I mean that they’d scale directly to Oscar’s magic. Like, Oscar’s magic is extremely weaker than a maidens magic. For instance, this board has the main cast below maidens, right? Yang was able to blow a hole in Salem’s chest with her own attacks (the sticky bombs.) Oscar failed to even scratch Salem when he fired off his beam. I am arguing that he is BELOW the cast in terms of magic power.
 
In essence yes. People have major issues with scaling to the maidens, so I feel like scaling directly to Oscar’s shield with my arguments may ruffle less feathers.

You do realize the Maidens get their Low 7-B due to Cinder breaking Ozpin’s shield right? Scaling the cast to the shield essentially makes them equal to Maidens which of course makes no sense as they are obviously below them.

That's where Oscar's beam comes in. You see, Oscar has a much lower magic threshold than other maidens. Due to Ozpin splitting his magic up back in the day, he has been leaking magic for thousands of years with each reincarnation. Ozpin DIED when he faced off against Cinder. Whether she broke his shield or not, Cinder's magic as a fresh full powered maiden still surpassed his own magic. Now, with Oscar, he has even less magic and experience. Canonically, he's the weakest as has been as, in the opinion of the board, doesn't scale to maidens.




Proof of what I said.

Now, take a look at this scene of Oscar shooting his laser at Salem.



On its own, it does nothing. Nada. Zilch. Now let's take a look at Yang using her bombs.



She blows her entire chest open. Blood and gore is splattered everywhere. Yang has also used these bombs against Elm and Vine too.

Both times, their auras failed to shimmer or shatter. Since Yang scales to them, she scales to her bombs.

What I am saying is that Oscar's magic has been shown to be not effective against Salem while Yang's bombs were. That is what I mean by scaling the main cast to the bombs. Oscar's magic beam and magic shield comes from the same magic pool. He's just able to utilize it in different ways. But it is still his magic at the end of the day.

As for cast and maidens being equal, we'll just say that maidens massively upscale from the feat. Easy as pie.

Yeah he leaks magic but we don’t know by how much, and I doubt he lost that much reincarnating as Oscar.

Anyway I’m not gonna invest too much in this as I’m not really into RWBY these days. I’m just saying if people disagreed with Maiden downscaling they’re probably not gonna agree with something that makes them equal or close to Maidens as well.

Well he's been leaking magic and reincarnating since nearly the dawn of humanity. So a long long time. Again, he died during his battle against maidens.

I would like people to look past the maiden scaling and look into what I am actually saying and if it makes sense. I believe I deserve a fair shake. Take maiden scaling aside and see if the logic is there for scaling the main cast to the newbie magic user.

Looking for more thoughts on this. Like, I know this puts them on the same tier as maidens, but again, we can just say that they are massively upscale. I guess I just don't want vibes to me the reason it is not agreed on.
