Previous calculation:

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/U...htning_and_Ruby_displaces_rocks_(Vivi's_calc)

77022.6183415065095928 m/s or Mach 224.55573860497523

My calculation:

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Firestorm808/RWBY_Lightning_%22Dodge%22_Recalculatio

275441.231019 m/s or Mach 803.0356589475218

They are still Massively Hypersonic (Mach 100-1000), but I have a 4x difference. What do you guys think in regards to my math and scaling?

Nah dont worry, im just waiting to see what the calc members have to say before giving an opinion but im all for a RWBY speed upgrade :p

Even if this leads nowhere, there was a scene in volume 4 that might be a speed upgrade. I've always wanted to have someone calc it if possible but I'm not sure where to request for a calc.

Yeah I wasn't sure where to find that thread. I think like, multiple of them are made or something idk. Last one I found was closed. It's the scene where Blake dodges the beam from the sea dragon's mouth. I think it's possible to get the speed of that beam from an earlier shot where the beam takes like. 2 frames to pass far past the length of the ship.

The thing about this feat is that we have no way of knowing if the electrical attack from the Sea Dragon is as fast as real lightning in order to scale cinematic time. The Fall Maiden was clearly shown to have weather manipulation. That's how I scaled for the cinematic time as the duration of lightning in real life is much less than a second of video.

Well on the RWBY wiki for the Sea Dragon it does state the it fires lightning from it's mouth. And we know it's electricity because of the sparks that flew off of Sun.

Is that statement from the creators or the community inference? Also, not all electricity travels at the same speed. Lightning is a specific case.

Actually we just changed the rules so now electricity that deals 8-C or higher damage is treated as moving the same speed as lightning. Seeing as it can damage 8-As it would be treated as the same speed.

If it helps, here is the concept art of the ship so you can use the size of Blake to get the size of the ship.

^ I rechecked the episode, and I couldn't find any scene showing that the attack did Building-level energy output. Sun and the ship were shocked by it, and they were relatively unharmed.

We could possibly scale it to the anti-aircraft like gun that ended up killing it. What do you guys think?
