Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

RidleyX is displaying extremely rude, mocking, and incendiary behaviour in an outright malicious manner. I personally think that we should ban him for at least 3 months.
I agree. I’ve noticed that being confrontational is usually his MO on the MHA Discussion Thread, and he crossed the line here.

If you want to ban him outright, be my guest, but maybe a lighter sentence would be best here given that he has not been banned before. Maybe a month?

His account page says that he has a previous ban, but that was from before we added our ban history plugin function.

He does seems like a rude person. But I do think giving a second chance as crab suggested could be done here. He can be perma banned if after a month or 2 ban his behaviour is still same...

Edit:
His account says that he has a previous ban, but that was from before we added our ban history plugin function.
Nvm then.

He first joined here on January 16 2021. Can somebody search for his username in this RVR thread please, so we get some perspective regarding his past ban?

Well, after investigating what was said regarding Ridley's behaviour the last time he was banned, I think that 6 months would have been sufficient at the time, so maybe we should given him a 6 months or 1 year ban this time instead?

I originally considered starting this off with “this isn’t necessarily a report”, but after seeing the amount of times this has happened, to the point where a mod has intervened, I don’t think I can exactly call this ignorance.

This user has, without fail, since their joining, made a stomp match that involves Joker.

No one makes the same mistake seven times over recurrently.

I don't think he's malicious, just ignorant. He's not reading the profiles and probably won't until he gets an official warning.

I question the validity of maliciousness, or at lest the nature of it. They’ve been recurrently told to stop, by mod and member alike, going as far as to apologize before, yet they continue.

What do you call making the same mistake seven times?

It’s defo just a case of ignorance and not understanding how to properly make a vs thread, I’m not sure they even understand the tiering system at the level they’re doing matches at because they seemed confused at the idea of Joker being x layers above baseline 1-A.

Not my place but I’d ban them for a very short period (Like a week tops) from making vs threads, give them proper instructions, and extend it if they come back with more of the same

They definitely understand the tiering system, as they like to mention the fact that an opponent is far weaker than Joker or another character at the start of the matches.
I think this is quite deliberate.

Acknowledging the irony of a 9-A vs 1-A matchup doesn’t mean you are likely to be knowledgable on how Tier 1 layers work, and the Sans match isn’t even proof that they know they’re making stomps considering the idea that 9-A vs 1–A being impossible might not be obvious for a new member if their 9-A vs Low 2-C thread went 10 pages (Sans vs Freiza)
