I suppose since he was acting rather silly in chat yesterday and his user profile page here says he "distrusts" admins yet he trusts Newestfighter.

Yeah, plagiarism does suck, but cant really stop him from doing that, it doesn't break any rules here and if it's his own wiki we can't do anything, unless there's some overall rule about stealing from other wiki's in general.

It sucks but at least he didn't vandalize it change anything here and opted to make his own.

No, but it's unpleasant that all the work we do here is literally copied and pasted somewhere else, does he even asked to use the Tiering System?
 
I don't believe plagiarism is against Wikia rules, as someone who has talked with Staff about other wikis stealing our formats. Credit is necessary, IIRC, but he's not doing anything wrong in itself. If he starts trouble, he'll be blocked.

Banning someone over things that aren't against the rules is questionable, if he starts shit or insults and demeans others or stuff like that then go ahead, no need for toxicity.
 
Well, BattleReviews has also talked about not liking staff members after Newestfighter was banned
 
You're allowed not to like someone, as long as he doesnt start a fight and doesn't insult anyone he can have his highly suspect opinions.

False reports due to personal vendettas aren't allowed.

Anyway this has derailed, cluttered and strayed from the threads main purpose. If he breaks a rule or demeans anyone then go right ahead, untill then let's keep this thread for things that is explicitly not ok.
 
Actually, as far as I have understood, the Fandom policy regarding such wikis, is that copied pages should all give credit to the original versions in other wikis. I will inform Kavpeny about this.
 
On second thought, his wiki only seems to have 2 pages. That is probably not important enough to warrant an intervention. We usually perform them with copycat wikis that have at least a few hundred pages.
 
It's more work then it's worth. Making a fuss out of a thing that will die out in a month with a small handful of contributors is a waste of time to be completely honest, it's best to just them be.

We've had copycat wikis for years, I've spotted one from 2014 awhile back. They've done nothing to hinder our growth then and they will do nothing in the future.
 
It shouldn't be bothered with atm if you ask me. Likely they'll abandon it like everyone else did when they tried to do something similar. I've seen it happen on multiple platforms. I do remember some of them being deleted for them "being made out of spite/block" though, and one of them was pretty recent.
 
Well, as I mentioned, it is worth the trouble with wikis that copy hundreds or thousands of our pages, but not one that only has two.

By the sound of it, @BattleReviews is complaining to the staff for banning a couple users abusing sock puppets. That does sound like a rule violation IMO; disrespect to the staff seems very intolerable.
 
Yeah, i think a warning is the best way for now, let's give the user a chance to at least change his attitude.
