Since the old ban was only for 1 month, and has ended by now, I suppose that a 2 month block for both accounts is appropriate.
 
TheSmartestAnimeFights - An account created just today, their first contribution was to this thread in which they gave an argument and then, for some reason, responded to themselves with multiple insults about their own response...I dont know if they meant to switch accounts or what but it seems a bit suspicious
 
Ask him what he thinks he's doing, and if he still feels like a troll, I'd say permaban him or something. Can't agree more this is either an extra sketchy troll, or a person with a disorder or something, cause I have only seen this type of behavior with an old buddy of mine with that. Says something only to yell at himself. However I am doubtful this dude is anything but a troublemaker trying to get our attention.
 
I agree with Hop. In any case if this person does have some kind of disorder we may need to approach this differently.

He is most likely some troll that has been perma-banned from here in the past. For the sake of precaution, I have already banned this anon IP here.
 
That sounds threatening. If you want you could have him blocked globally, but only if you think it's necessary.
 
Well, anonymous IPs are not allowed to contribute here, since BeyonderGod spammed this wiki with temporary troll accounts.

Regardless, I think that you should preferably contact VSTF, as well as wikia's staff for further information.

We do not have ability to check the IPs on our own after all.
 
I agree with banning Jet50 and Faxinnh.
 
Oh, so this has already been taken care of? Good. I'm still at work but recieved a text from Momo saying how people offended her in chat and no staff took any course of action due to believing it wasn't "intended to be offensive". Thankfully Matt handled it and thank you Dark for banning them.

Even with that said, forgiving him is hard. He knew what he was writing, and should have been mindful even if he didn't know we has Japanese users in chat. Like, come on. That's like saying "nuke muslin countries" or some other extremely barbaric rhetoric. That event effected millions. That was the single most tragic thing I know that happened to Japan. So come on, unless he was being edgy, it still was in bad taste. I can't really think about this in a lighter context.
 
I agree it was in a very bad taste but still, aren't you guys going a bit too far? Wouldn't a warning or a short ban (1 month) be enough to send the message across?

We should be forgiving for newcomers as our purpose is to grow, especially if they agree to not violate the rules again and if they apologize. If the community continues like this, we'll likely end up banning on sight for every little thing.

Just my opinion.
 
Let's try that and talk to him about it somehow if we can. Other than that, I suggest a ban to around 3 months. That's allot of time to think it over. If not that, just 1 month ban, and the 3 months for chat only.
 
Look. If he apologizes to Momo then his ban can be lifted. But I won't sit there and feel sorry for him after he clearly said he knew his jokes were in bad taste. Again, SR11 was permabanned for making a racist joke. Let's not be hypocrites or pick and choose which types of offensive jokes should be allowed.
