(ROLEPLAY) Legion of Man - SUMMARY THREAD -

The universe was either created, or has simply existed forever. There is simply no way for humans to know.
We're born alongside a countably infinite amount of other universes, all with their own set of knowledge, physics and problems. We've all either been created, or have simply existed forever, there is simply no way for any of us to know.

Although this may generate feeling of insignificance, we can take solace in knowing that since the universe was created, it's being watched over by some sort of creator. If it has existed forever, it will continue to exist forever. No matter what, this infinite bubble of space we call a universe has existed long before us, and will exist long after us

... but what if I told you that these universes... what if I told you they're all disappearing?

That the only piece of information we thought we could take comfort in... was grossly incorrect?

- Miriam Adah Elisha

Welcome to The Legion of Man, without a doubt the wiki's most popular roleplay game.

The premise is simple:

you create a character with the ability to summon what's called a servant, the spiritual manifestation of a character from the verses of your choosing. These servants are the remnants of warriors and characters who's universe has been mysteriously destroyed, they only exist now through a spiritual and mental link to your character.

With this power, you, under the guidance of your leader, Miriam, attempt to gather resources and power in an attempt to fight the Legion of Ma, an inter-universal organization that is supposedly responsible for the mass erasure and destruction of universes.

The problem:

your servants, while definitely strong, are limited in the duration they can be summoned for. The stronger they are, the less time they can be summoned for (and vice versa).

The Legion of Man and those who fight in their cause generally consist of some of the strongest characters in fiction (we've seen Izraf, a 5-A boosted Najenda, The Sentry and even HA DIO, among many others whom are willing to throw themselves at you all in the LoM's cause), your only hope of staying alive is working together with your fellow players and honestly playing as smart as you possibly can.

The stakes: If you die, you're out of the game. If you fail to stop the Legion of Man, your home universe will be wiped out entirely, just like the uncountable amount of universes that came before you.

The Story (as of now):

Servants: An Informative Guide

Chapter 1: Trust (COMPLETE) - Summary
TL;DR - You're all kidnapped and transported into an office building. A man named Jeffery bursts in with what he calls a servant, and explains that he knows you've all had weird visions and hallucinations of the same person/thing etc. That connection that you possess is weak, but if empowered, can become a servant as well. Also universes are randomly being erased and destroyed and they think they know why.

A little girl named Miriam walks into the room and shoots Jeffery several times before forcing you all to play russian roulette. After nobody plays she informs you it was a test and that you've all failed. Miriam elaborates, revealing to you that she may not have a servant but she has visions too. She is why they know that universes are being erased, and that our universe is in big danger unless they do something to stop it. Although she does not have a bond to these lost worlds, she can strengthen them.

She ends with strengthening everyones bonds before escorting you to a mega-penthouse, and informing you that you'll be staying here until further notice.

Chapter 2: Infiltrate (COMPLETE) - Summary
TL;DR - You're all under strict supervision and ordered to train and get to know your servants and the abilities they have. A few days later the entire group is escorted to a private warehouse (that's been re-purposed as a lab), where inside is a metal arch-structure that is surrounded by a few dozen personel and engineers.

Miriam lets you all know you'll be the first to test their inter-universal teleporter. Your goal is to retrieve the other half of a special key that belongs to Miriam, a key that seems to be linked to higher-dimensional energy and matter, and may be instrumental in stopping the Legion of Man, an inter-universal organization that Miriam has unwilling recollection and knowledge of. She believes them to be responsible for the loss and erasure of the countless amount of universes... which may just include our own.

Using the transporter, you land on what's known as Shadow Moses Island. It seems like your average military base, but according to your escort on this mission, Jeffery, this place must possess the other half of the key, as the transporter used coordinates based on quantum mechanics and other sciences related to Miriam's half of the key.

The journey is long and tedious, the entire place seems to be empty... until you run into another group who initiates a firefight. You eventually reach a standstill and form a compromise with their leader, Solid Snake. Their goal is also to retrieve the key, but they have no idea about anything related to the Legion of Man. You continue your journey but are assaulted and approached by henchmen working under them. It's not easy but your collective group manages to defeat them.

You reach what must be the final room containing the key, its purpose to test and extract what energy they can from it. Inside is a crying wome, begging you not to erase her universe. After a brief exchange you realize you cannot calm her down. She stabs herself with the key, imbueing herself with the traces of higher dimensional energy that it's connected to.

After realizing that nobody is able to really defeat her, your team instead forms a plan to shove her into the energy extractor. Solid Snake keeps Najenda pinned onto the extractor at the cost of his own life. Using a device, you re-collect everyone and transport yourselves back to your home universe before the extractor overloads and destroys the island.

Chapter 3: DIO's WORLD (COMPLETE) - Summary
TL;DR - You're all recovering and mourning the loss of your friends that you've come to know. Miriam expresses no sympathy towards the loss of your allies, warranting the group to grow spiteful and untrusting towards her. While out on the running track doing your instructed exercises, the ground begins to shake. Personel arrive on the scene as fast as possible, all the while portals begin to form on the outskirts. Universal foreigners, the Skrull to be specific. They dash like madmen to the center in an attempt to steal the now complete key from Miriam. Their leader: The Sentry.

It's a blood bath, the group manages to barely hold their own (thanks to assistance from Miriam's personal assistant, Natasha, and her own servant, Meta Knight.) Unfortunately, the key is lost to enemy hands. As they leave through the portal, your group makes a split second decision to chase after them... it's your only hope in saving the universe.

Your arrive in the other world, injured and wounded. You're in a city... but it's all ruins? The Sentry begins to regain his strength, standing up while your group acts quickly and snags the key. Before he can object, a voice booms behind him, instructing him to relax and calm down. A heavenly light washes through the torn streets, falling upon The Sentry. A figure emerges, as if he was god. He instantly erases The Sentry on account of him failing to retrieve the key.

The godly figure introduces himself as DIO and orders you to bring him the key. One of your party members fights back in defiance and is instantly erased without a struggle (RIP Jayden). It's clear that this man is in control. DIO brings your group back to his own private arena, and orders you all to participate in his private gameshow.

The group crushes the gameshow pretty easily. It turns out having a servant also lets you gain access to the information they had in their universe, but only when demanded. DIO calls everyone a cheater, and punishes you all by forcing each other to fight to the death. You do so relucantly, causing the death of even more party members. Those who are not forced into battle immediately are gathered in a waiting area surrounded by dozens of undead security, all able to take you out easily. To make things worse, DIO has the entire room monitored.

A stranger bursts into the room and takes care of undead with the party members, revealing himself to be Joseph Joestar, revived and brought back for DIO's personal amusement. One of your party members has Jotaro Kujo as their servant. A quick greeting is exchanged and you all continue with a plan. A final large scale attack is unleashed against DIO during the middle of the battle. He laughs at you all, how are you going to even remotely pose a threat? He stops time and throws himself towards your group but is met with resistance with the now servant Jotaro, who unexpectedly engages in a stopped time punching match. He's good, but DIO's better. He's casually tossed away, crippled and broken. Thanks to a little help from Miriam (who's now arrived via the transporter) and her railgun, DIO's brain is rendered incap and you're able to fight him 1-1 without his stand for a little while. You end with him crippled and bloodied, but at such an incredible cost. He warns you that more are coming, that someone even stronger and more menacing is coming. You all decide to kill him, saddened with the loss of your friends more than anything.

TRUE TL;DR: You guys get invaded by The Sentry. He steals the key and leaves back into another universe, you chase after him before he can. He's immediately greeted by DIO who erases him and takes you all back to a sadistic gameshow for his pleasure. You form a plan thanks to help from insiders and outsiders, and manage to kill him before going back home with the key.

Chapter 4 is in progress but has been suspended, we will be resuming from it temporarily. A summary will be provided when the game re-boots. Any questions and concerns related to the lore and gameplay can be addressed here.
