That's not what his ability is by the description, it's the other way around. He percieves the attacks as non attacks, which means he can't do that to an attack he can't percive.

Those are just examples of ways he doesn't percieve things that would otherwise obviously be perceived as an attack. If he does not recognize an attack, then it does not effect him. He does not need to percieve it as something else for it to not effect him
