I believe the general consensus was that GRB 080916C is the most powerful explosion in the universe that we have ever recorder. It stands at roughly 8.8 kilofoe, or Solar System Level.
But there is an article that suggests there is something far more destructive; https://www.scientificamerican.com/...-the-biggest-known-explosion-in-the-universe/
According to the article, the blast is equivalent to 5 x 10^54 joules, which is FAR higher than the 8.8 kilo foe, or 8.8 x 10^47 joules of the GRB 080916C.
Is there some nuisance I am missing or is it time for a new king of Real Life explosions?
