I press the button one last time.

 

[WHYNAUT]

I lay a hand on Ashley's shoulder. "Maybe we should try someting else"

 

[Overlord775]

"You are right"

I then turn towards him

"I think I may have dropped the batteries of the portal gun when we were still up, so I'll go see if I can find them."

I then go towards the ladder and climb up.

 

[Torlikoff]

At the bottom of the latter you find a pile of batteries

"I guess is my lucky day"

I then try to insert the barriers in the portal gun's slot.

 

[Torlikoff]

None of them fit into the portal gun. It appears to need C batteries. Perhaps there are some by the couch

 

[WHYNAUT]

"Do you need other batteries?" I ask Ashley.

 

[Overlord775]

"Yes, I do, none of these fit"

I respond to Alex as I gesture towards the pile of batteries

 

[WHYNAUT]

I begin searching for C batteries by the couch.

 

[Torlikoff]

The pile of batteries collected earlier is on the floor.

 

[WHYNAUT]

I keep searching for C batteries in the pile.

 

[Torlikoff]

There are no C batteries in the pile.

"It seems you neither were lucky."

I say to Alex, I then climb up the ladder.

I follow Ashely up the ladder.

 

[Torlikoff]

The gas station is still destroyed, but you can see some tinfoil in the rubble has survived.

"Uh, what is that ? "

I go check the tinfoil

 

[WHYNAUT]

I climb up the ladder too.

 

[Torlikoff]

The tinfoil is tinfoil

I check if there's anything inside the tinfoil

 

[Torlikoff]

There is tinfoil inside the tinfoil.

I drop the tinfoil and start searching for the batteries of the portal gun

 

[Torlikoff]

There is a pack of batteries in the rubble

 

[Overlord775]

I check if the batteries fit the portal gun.

 

[Torlikoff]

They are just a little bit too small.

 

[Torlikoff]

Actually, they fit in perfectly.

 

[Overlord775]

"Fingers crossed now"

I check if the portal gun screen now works

 

[Torlikoff]

It does work, but the image seems to be just of an empty field

 

[WHYNAUT]

I look over Ashley's should "That's strange". I lean forward to get a better view.

 

[Torlikoff]

The screen suddenly displays a text saying "anomaly detected, chase Y/N?"

 

[Overlord775]

I notice Alex is basically leaning on me, so I pull the portal gun's screen closer to him.

"Do you think we should chase this "anomaly" ? "

I ask him

 

[WHYNAUT]

"I can't think of any other options so why not"

"Sounds good to me."

 

[Overlord775]

"Sounded good to me too"

I then press Y on the Portal Gun

 

[Torlikoff]

"Anomaly locked onto" the screen says.

 

[Overlord775]

"Here goes nothing"

I say sarcastically, then I use the portal gun and try to create a portal.
