See the video, a bullet just simply doesn't create shockwaves to cause additional damage in its path, if the bullet only grazes your skin (which is actually very very unlikely to happen) chances are it'll only leave a scratch, and near-miss is used very liberally by people.

Getting literally grazed by one only results scratch, the .50 bmg dismembering with a graze is a meme inadvertedly perpetuated by people who overplay their power, just stop and think for a sec. How it is even possible for people to give reliable accounts of such an event when it would obviously happen at supersonic speeds? I doubt it originated from someone who happened to have a slow-mo camera capturing the event, we'd have actual clips of that if that were the case.

The 50 BMG was only memed to kill by only having a near miss (AKA it just flew past you without touching your body), a graze was never refered.

So... I can't find a calc for Arthur. Assuming there isn't one, that'd make him baseline. Which would make the Goblin Slayer, based on this calc, over 233 times stronger than Arthur. How does Arthur not get roflstomped much less wi?

How so? Arthur's bullets can pulverize skulls, and plate armor gets owned by normal 9-C bullets. Arthur just spams Dead-Eye and shoots at Gobbo's vital points. Plate isn't stopping 9-B bullets, and said plate didn't even save Gobbo from dying later.

And Arthur can tank a train hitting him, but barely. He also regularly takes multiple of these 9-B rounds.

Plate armor in fiction isn't necessarily exactly the same as it is IRL. Destroying a skull still requires 33 times less energy than what GS can survive.

50 BMG has only 18 kilojoules, but it's handy enough to penetrate through tank armor and can tear humans in half, same thing for Arthur's guns. Also, piercing damage is a thing. Adding exposive ammo is overkill.
