General OPM Revision Thread

Actually, I recall some old arguments I've had, so I'm about to do something controversial here.

I don't think we should scale Bomb to the Garou that fought Bang, or Bomb should get an at most since he wasn't one-shot. Garou significantly bloodied many different parts of Bomb's face, practically immobilised him, and broke his leg with a normal punch (not some technique that bypasses durability).

'But Garou needs adversity to evolve' is a common (and false) argument that I've gotten in response to this; he simply needs to be pushed to become stronger at random points in fights. Garou was able to adapt to Psykos' telekinesis when simply held in place, get faster in the midst of running away from Orochi, and become faster and stronger while performing hits rather than getting hit. Even while overwhelming PS, this same Garou was accelerating, and grew to the point of one-shotting him in the space of one attack.

Clearly, the Garou that fought Bomb is evolved and is << the Garou that stomped Bomb, who's in turn < the AB Garou who fought PS and AB Bang.
Stop spitting, you flooded my house with facts

Do you personally think at most is better, or not scaling them entirely?

I think we should take into account that Bomb was weakened by the energy drain from Fubuki though

We could give Bomb a "Possibly higher" after his primary rating to account for that.

Ok, so PPP, Genos and DSK would scale to 2x baseline Small Town level. Maybe higher if the Max Three Crows stuff gets accepted.
I think Max scaling makes more sense, Snek and him could have become stronger but no way they are one shotting DSK level monsters now.

Other than that, the Narinki mercs base key would scale I think as their battle suits come from The Organization too and are pretty much identical to the Paradisers.

Considering that Max considers himself inferior to DSK even during the tournament, yeah this makes sense for Genos to scale to him

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't change the durability of his face and leg, just the strength he can output with them. But possibly higher could work.

By Three Crows stuff, I meant 7-C instead of Low 7-C. I should've been more specific.

Oh, and what would be the consensus of the speed scaling? Now that we are discussing it here it would be nice if someone makes a blog explaining the scaling as well.

Iaian/ENW

Iaian's AP was downgraded here, but almost the exact logic would apply to his speed. So he and ENW shouldn't scale to Atomic Samurai, just Psykos' blasts via Homeless Emperor and VFU scaling.
Regarding this, wouldn't Iaian and therefore ENW scale to Atomic movement speed anyway? He is fighting alongside him and can keep up with thousands of Black Sperm clones that can tag Atomic.

Oh and one last thing, Genos Class M rating has no proper justification on his profile, he scales above Iaian for no reason.

Okay, sounds good. So should we start applying the changes then?
Which changes? I think it'd be a good idea if we put the changes into a sandbox so we can see how the profiles are going to look and be on the same page.

I agree, we should get a sandbox with all the changes laid out before we start applying things.

That would also help us ensure that we add references once we do apply this.

True, my main concern here is the revamped speed scaling
We should probably divide it up into two sandboxes to keep it simpler. One for speed and one for AP/Striking Strength/Durability.

He was supposed to be Class 25 due to this thread.

No, because they blitzed the **** out of them.

There's not really much to be concerned about. Everyone who doesn't scale to Atomic becomes MHS, while everyone who does becomes MHS+.

Since Fubuki doesn't scale, half the characters in the series now don't.

Human Garou scales to deflecting Death Gatlings Death Shower? I think there was a calc that got MHS for that

I see. Maybe Kachon suggestion could be used for a recalc or we just scale Garou to Post Superfight Genos beam speed, sorry for not linking the calc but I think you know which one Im talking about

For this calculation, wouldn't it have to take into account that only part of the building actually moved at this speed?

Yes, it would.

Right now it seems like the calc is assuming that the entire building rotated around its center evenly, instead of it tilting over to one side.

I'm thinking of how we should format Post-Darkshine Garou.

Should we start off with Mountain level and mention that he stomped Bomb, or should we just start with xx (Superior to Spiral Garou. Fought Bomb), up to Continent level with Reactive Evolution and mention the Mountain level calculation in the scaled profiles (Flashy, Bang, PS, etc)?

I think this is the best option.

I think the calculation ought to be mentioned somewhere in Garou's profile even if it's not his main justification.

Maybe Mountain level with Awakened Breath?

Maybe Mountain level with Awakened Breath?
So:

"At least X (Stronger than before, and overwhelmed Bomb), Mountain level with Awakened Breath (Performed [this feat]), up to Continent level with Reactive Evolution (Fought and harmed Sage Centipede. Could damage Sage Centipede when Metal Bat couldn't, and was stated to be vastly stronger than him), Continent level+ with Resonance (Repelled the 6666 Leg Grand Drill and severely damaged Sage Centipede's exoskeleton in conjunction with Metal Bat’s Savage Hurricane. Punched through Sage Centipede and ripped out his regeneration core)"

More like

At least X (Stronger than before, and fought Bomb), Mountain level with Awakened Breath (Performed [this feat]. Stronger than when he stomped Bomb)

Simply because Garou was much closer to Bomb at first, and clashed with AB Bang without using AB initially.

I seem to recall that in the last thread about Garou, the idea of listing his feat as Awakening Breath was rejected since there’s no evidence for it.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that.

At least, the issue was that there was no way of telling if Awakened Breath was still active or not. It may have continued to stay in effect or may have stopped.

On another note, I'm realising that possibly 7-B makes zero sense.

The same statement would apply to Elder Centipede, who is on par with and much stronger than tons of S-Class. In fact, Blast's fight with EC (in which we see that Blast is damaged) being shown also retcons the whole situation.

Edit: Gouketsu as well.
