Fire Emblem Discussion thread: New Forum, New Mystery of the Emblem

Well, the game is out right now. I downloaded my copy and should be able to play soon. Also did the Hero bonus thing so much stuff to use

I'm already through chapter 5. FEH is referred to as "Countless worlds" in the ring gallery thing. So we might maybe get rings from Heroes that aren't from Askr at some point down the line.

Tried to purchase a copy after work, but they sold out. Will check other stores on my next dayoff.

Finally gotten to play and I have reach Chapter 4. I’m see that FE will never change when it come to this, it is like a tradition or something and it felt really quick

I want to avoid risk of Engage spoilers, but I been looking for Engage but the nearest store doesn't have it. Since tomorrow is my first dayoff since the game's release I will look at other stores.

It seems fire emblem characters do not have many added matchups maybe it’s because it’s not as popular as other series here.

what else could be the reason (are they hard to match up with?)

I just got Engage today, and so far I absolutely love the game and makes me exciting for what the rest of the game has and more or less the rest of 2023. I haven't played through it enough to compare it too much to other FE games yet though, but I enjoy it more than I do the Fates trilogy at least, but I don't think it's quite up to my top three (Holy War, Binding Blade, and Three Houses)

Nice. So far, I'm on Chapter 10 (halfway through it) and that is perhaps the first chapter so far that caught me off guard

Damn kids and their fancy schmancy Switch playing dandy mandy Engage...

Someday, when Switch Emulations becomes stable and my system strong enough...

What are the best fire emblem characters to make matches with? Most popular?
Byleth, I suppose. Has decent skill, has a notable AP & dura chain, has short-range and mid-range options, has some noteworthy hax in their first two keys and with their optional equipment - especially the limited time hax. Following them is... idk. A good number of other main character lords and units are just bricks with weapons or bricks with magic or beings that can transform into a dragon/wolf/rabbit/whatever without much hax to 'em when compared to Byleth. If I had to pick, I would chose Grima.

He'd also be the size of a mountain, which i find funny conceptually for any normal sized character to fight. He'd be so imposing and hard to fight directly unless he was using just the Hierophant.

I gotta say, the Emblems start off OP when attempting to fight them in the Arena.

Literally the reason they got teleported in the first place, they saw how much of a unit Grima is and said "how can we fight this?"

I think it was implied somewhere that Grima was holding back, since he either wanted Lucina to give up the Fire Emblem, or Robin to submit. Plus, Grima’s attacks are capable of destroying the soul.

Yeah, it kinda makes the voice acting sound awkward since they aren't pronouncing the name(s). It worked with Three Houses since everyone calls them Professor, or "Teach" in Claude's case and "Chatterbox" in Hapi's case. Or they could have done what the SMT series did and replace the name pronunciations with comments, like when the name "Isamu" pops up while Chiaki is talking, she says "That idiot"

Tiki’s Paralogue makes me want to throw my switch against the wall with how many reinforcements she’s sending
Oh yeah, first time a lost a unit right before I was about to finish the last two enemies in the chapter and decided to restart chapter to avoid losing a valuable unit for good. But then I completely forgot time crystal exists and feel really ass.

Just camp around where they spawn. That is what I did until the reinforcements finally stop. Just make sure to pick up the Sliver Card on the map though

Lodestar strike consist of 7 strikes or 9 strikes if used by a Dragon unit.
