Extremely important information about our upcoming forum migration - 2

Okay. Wait a little.

I have told them to change the title from "VSBattle Forum" to "VS Battles Wiki Forum".

But, since there are additions (night mode), are there things being removed as well? This was probably answered before, but i don't know where or when.

yay dark mode

also this wiki be like [IMAGE REMOVED]

edit:i hope i don't get banned for this but oh well it was worth it

A better question would be this:

How much time will it take after the migration to the new forum to continue back on CRTs and editing pages?

Well, if you guys need any help with anything, I'm sure there are many of us who could help with simple stuff, I know many of us want this to go as fast as possible so we can continue with CRT's, so if we all helped with the workload like re-linking vs battles and threads, then the whole process would move faster

Well, we will get some other new features such as private messaging and a more stable system that doesn't eat posts, but the Latest/New Posts page does not work quite the same way as our current Recent Changes page (The colour layout for it also still has to be fixed), and we have to stick important threads at the top of a forum. We cannot highlight them. Unlike here, we can do so with several of them at once though.

@Zencha9

I deleted the image, so Fandom doesn't ban you.

@Mitch

Thank you. That is appreciated. AKM is correct.

Yes. Everyone should remain patient, as the Staff and Community Hired are doing the best they can to ensure that these new forums are at the top of their game when we finally move out.

I've already told AKM, but if you need any help with links and whatnot, you can count on me, Ant.

Thank you. The company is called Community Hired though.

Okay. No problem.

If I may speak so frankly, it looks like things are going well so far. Hopefully a highlight feature will be able to implemented. While I understand there are many other complications & concerns, it's much easier for users site wide to have a list of important topics to look over, rather than having to check which threads are at the top of which forums.

Perhaps there will be a dedicated thread for a list of "highlighted" threads? Would help bring attention to CRTs & the like, I bet.

I have previously mentioned this to Community Hired, but XenForo does not seem to have this as an extra feature as far as they are aware.

I could mention it again though.

We could also use something similar to our current system, with a thread that lists important other threads inserted by the staff. It may not be very efficient though.

Probably not necessary to bother them with a matter they cannot act upon if it seems nothing has changed regarding it since last you mentioned it. Nonetheless, I quite appreciate your consideration of my thoughts on the matter.

Perhaps if it becomes a matter of more concern. (Although some might argue this is a case where one should act sooner to prevent things becoming problems. I'm not sure that's accurate myself, though.)

I have just mentioned it to them. We will see if anything can be done.

I think that systems like XenForo should be able to have a message to all users at the top of every page (not necessarily the very top, but above the forum content), or something along those lines, right? Couldn't links to any highlighted threads be placed there?

I do not know. I have asked though.

"All discussion posts made after April 14 will disappear in the new forum" Does that include blogs?

No. Not as far as I am aware.
