Elden Ring General Discussion

I FOUND THE ARTBOOK PAGE FOR METYR, AND IT'S CALLED A QUASAR

WE ARE SO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, here's the rough draft for the Dancing Lion's page.
Looks good so far, I only have a few notes:

  • The 4-A, Sub-Relativistic scaling from Mohg will probably need to be held off until we make a CRT to actually change his profile. Even when we do get it finished though, it might be best to say "likey High 4-C, possibly 4-A", since Messmer was able to no-diff a metric crap ton of Lions by himself.
  • I think he should be given some abilities based on the Horn-Decked Beast that possesses the sculpted keepers. Maybe we could just mention possession of something of the sort in his abilities for controlling their bodies.

Reminds me I should edit Messmer's blog and his tier with that

I really don't want to make an entire key for a god that I think has one line mentioning it in the entire game.
I don't think you need to make a key for it. The Divine Beast Dancing Lion IS the Horn Decked Beast, just possessing the bodies of the sculpted keepers. We never really fight an original dancing lion controlled just by the sculpted keepers, so there's no need to make a separate key at all.

Creating a quasar is 4-A at best right? So if anything this serves to further reinforce 4-A for the high tiers in the verse

Possibly, however there's a chance Metyr just summoned the Quasar from the Microcosm, and thus it wouldn't count as a creation feat. In that case, the tarnished would scale too it by being able to tank its energy flares.

Tbf whether she's creating the quasar or summoning it shouldn't matter since the end result is still the same anyways.

It kind of does, since if she's summoning it she's basically just teleporting it from space to where we fight her. It's the same kind of thing as Astel's meteor attacks where it opens a portal and then meteors fly out, but in this case a Black Hole appears.

I'll put it as "likely Possession (The sculpted keepers are implied to be possessed by the spirit of the Divine Beast)", or something around those lines.

Well, it has 30% negation against Standard and Strike, and 20% negation against Slash (although I did not in that the weaknesses session that its lack of resistance in fire and piercing might have contributed to their downfall).

However, we really don't have any other profiles displaying their physical resistances either, although there is some room for discussion on this. After all, Malenia has 10% resistance on all physical stuff, so does that imply standard durability? And a lot of the bosses wearing some sort of armor (Radahn, Godfrey, Niall) are resistant to slash, but neutral/less resistant to pierce. And Godfrey actually loses most of his resistances and gains a slash weakness when he starts getting naked.

I mean in a fight it ultimately doesn't matter since the end result is the same, ofc it matters for scaling pure raw power.

Fellas I was screwing around with free cam and other stuff a while ago and I saw that in the Elden Beast arena that the sky moves and changes as time progresses. I'd also like to mention that unlike in the normal world, this sky has golden stars flickering around here and only here. And I wanted to see how you guys interpret this.

As I did something similar for Renalla's area and there was no movement at all. The sky was completely static. Which just seems to add more proof to the already accepted fact that her starry sky is an illusion. But that isn't the case for this place. It has a shifting sky just like the normal world. So does this work as proof/evidence for the Elden beast arena being a real separate place that has its own stars/planets that move in respect to the player's relative view?

I'm biased but I'd like to think so. But just seeing what you guys think.

P.S. The night sky in Rannis ending also shifts and moves around but that one was not meant to be seen unlike this one, Renallas, or the normal worlds. Still, thought I'd bring it up for a foot note though.

I mean does it mean Microscopic [REDACTED]?
Well, the destruction says this:

A finger sorcery of Count Ymir, High Priest.
One of the secret hallowed rites.

Conjures an image of a microcosm at a foe's feet that pulses with a single wave before disappearing in a burst.
Charging enhances potency.

The broken and discarded are fully willing to cling to fleeting simulacra, earning them some modicum of sympathy.

From how I interpret it, it sounds more like creating a virtual representation of a Microcosm than a fully real one. And some basic MTL of the Japanese text always has it be in likeness/resemblance, never saying just outright a microcosm. So its more virtual/magic than an outright creation feat. Making it whatever that counts as. So maybe magic, spatial manipulation, or illusions?

Could the Tarnished dodging Metyrs quasar also be a feat of relativistic/ftl speeds?
Not really, since it impossible for us to dodge the beams themselves, just the rotation of the Black Hole. That being said, I can see an argument for its lasers being similar speeds to the quasar’s jets, but that too is kinda up in the air.

Already has Magic so probably Illusion Creation & Explosion Manipulation

Okay actually I just looked this up, and apparently black holes rotate like stupid fast irl (like relativistic speeds fast in some scenarios). Might actually be worth it to look into in the future, although it might not work considering how its almost impossible to outrun the first beam.

I'm pretty sure only one of the beams is undodgeable though, the other one can be dodged.

Also can't both beams be parried with the deflect tear?

probably, that thing can stop anything lmao(should probably verify later tho). I kneel to the deflecting tear. My light speed/relativistic speed feat generator

follow up. using the deflect tear and great shield the tarnished can block the explosion from when the beam hits the ground but not the actual beam its self(or maybe more accurately they can't get engulfed by the beam and deflect. as in the first block of the gif it does kinda look like the tarnished is blocking the exact point where the beam hits the ground).
putting that at... idk.

Blocking the explosion is probably a better reaction feat than blocking the beam. The beam itself may be generated at relativistic speeds but Metyr is clearly not spinning her body at those speeds.

DLC so good it got nominated for GotY
On one hand Elden Ring already got GotY and this is just a really big dlc not a new game. So does it really belong on the GotY nomination. Even if there is a history for dlc winning GotY. On the other hand it would be stupidly incredibly extremely funny if Elden Ring got GotY twice.

I know which one I'm going for.

That's kinda where I'm at. Realistically, as GOTY, Black Myth Wukong deserves it. Simultaneously however, the prospect of Elden Ring winning a massive achievement like that is too big for me to look over.

Personally I just wish they had a best DLC and best remake category, but I'll sit and think on it all for now.

What I have so far
Seems alright. Only thing I'd tweak is the realm of shadows part. Because was it probably the Elden Ring that seperated it from the world. Probably. But that's never outright confirmed. And since it's never confirmed/really connected to the elden ring a bunch of alternative reasons could be made for the separation. Like the shadu tree is actually wrapped with a massive sealing tree that obscures the realm like enir ilim was. Or it's the big veils above the sky that's concealing it. It's kinda of a nitpick but just thought I'd throw it out there.
