Elden Ring General Discussion

I wonder how a Marika build could be made. I guess we would get a Faith/Strength build with her hammer. Incantations would include Minor Erdtree and Blessing of the Erdtree (the incantation you get in her bedchamber) at least and probably a bunch of Erdtree and Golden Order Incantations. Radagon's Rings of Light could fit since...well, you know. For the seal, she would probably get the Golden Order Seal. No idea for the outfit though, maybe the one located in Lower Capital Church in Leyndell.

For Sauron, I would take Jolan's armor and use the Great Mace as the main weapon. Build would probably be a mix between Strength, Int and Faith. Sauron is heavily associated with the forge, magma and fire and is also a necromancer. I would give him all Messmer incantations (all of them are based on fire but with an evil, sinister look, and Sauron is also said to control the weather over Mordor and Mount Doom so Rain of Fire would fit). He would also get all Magma Sorceries (except Rykard Rancor), Ancient Death Rancor and Tibia's Summons. The Midra's Flame of Frenzy would be perfect to replicate the Great Eye. I would also give him the Darkness incantation and Poison Mist (since as the Necromancer, his power can poison plants, the environment and living beings). For the staff, he could get the Prince of Death Staff to be as close to the character as possible I guess (it's probably the closest to fit the character). For the seal on the other hand, there's no debate, he would get the Dragon Communion Seal, since it glows red. And, naturally, he would get Mohg's Great Rune. Glows red and...well, look at the rune and guess why :)

So basically, Strength/Faith/Int build, with Int being a bit lower than the rest.

Gandalf would be a bit more tricky. Outfit wise, no problem, the Snow Witch Set is almost perfect for him, especially the hat. For the staff, I would give him the Staff of the Loss since it's the closest to the simply a wooden staff feeling. Bastard Sword is similar to Glamdring in looks so it could fit. Finger or Erdtree seal would work.

Now the tricky part, the spells. Gandalf is mainly associated with fire and light, including in the movie. So mainly Faith. Which would make the staff pretty useless but we can still work on that. Glintstone Peeble is the basic sorcery offensive spell and we could add Starlight since he often uses spells to light up dark areas with his staff. Wouldn't go that far up with sorcery but good enough I believe. Incantations could include Flame Sling and Giantsflame Take Thee. He could also get Rejection (to imitate telekinetic blasts), Radagon's Ring of Light (I guess it can be said to be similar to the light blasts he uses against the Goblins in the first Hobbit movie). Then Lightning Spear, Honed Bolt and Electrify Armement (we see him channeling lightning in his sword and projecting it against the Balrog in the Two Towers flashback). Finally, I would give him some healing incantation since Gandalf represents fire with healing properties instead of the destructive/offensive kind of fire.

So basically, mainly a Faith/Strength build with just the right amount of Int.

If you want to go Gandalf but faith edition without a staff, in the Books Gandalf the White often does "magic" by just raising his hands or not even moving. Incantations work pretty well with this, especially considering how much lightning and light stuff there is.

You can use the Staff of the Great Beyond so he can cast fire incants, though its a heavy stat investment.

Marika's hammer, sword of elden beast, elden stars, heals, light of miquella, the rings could work

I just love how almost everyone in ER has at least some explanation, minor justification or tragic backstory to explain their motivation, or at least some honorable and positive trait. Like, even the worse of them like Rykard, Godrick or the Dung Eater have something that weirdly makes sense to explain their actions.

And then there's him. Basically demanding an axe or a Comet Azur to the face every single time he opens his mouth.

ok so I’m curious, can I canonically not kill the moon queen or dose the tarnished choose not to because she remained mostly neutral in the war
It's mostly because it would be useless. She's clearly far too gone and barely acknowledges what's happening around her at best. Girl doesn't even realize how bad her rebirth rituals have turned out, she's not dangerous in the slightest

Saw people put their top 10 spells in the previous page and I was disgusted, here's the true objective top 10 spells:
  1. Rain of Fire
  2. Doesn't matter no other spell is touching Rain of Fire

Leda's blog
Nice. Though her tier should be either "At least 7-A, likely High 4-C, potentially far higher" or "At least 7-A, likely 4-A". The former for the currently listed scaling (post Messmer/Mohg) and the latter if you're downscaling from the final DLC boss.

Also if you're scaling her to 4-A she would also get the new Sub-Rel rating I think.

Adding Soul Manipulation to Frenzied Flame users.

got to the queen moon chick and I gotta say, she is quite tedious
If we're sharing what we are up to I'd like to say Bayle is really fast for a guy built like a potato a kidney bean and a peg leg. Then again I'm running a greatsword build without any shadow fragments so my slow attacks and paper health aren't doing me any favors 🙃.

It's kind of the tricky part with her. She's fought after Messmer but I don't see her being stronger or as strong as him and certainly not as strong as the final boss so I guess I'll go for the second option. Also forgot to put that she can be summoned to fight Rellana

What's the justification for that?

What faction would y'all be apart of?

Personally I choose Ancient Dragons. Hail Placudisax...

Curse you Bayle!
Miquella's probably. Seems chill af and your ruler...kinda cares about you. Kinda. Every other faction is either demolished by the time we even show up, constantly at war, or would gladly kill you or cast you out at the flip of a switch for even the smallest of reasons. I also don't really align with the whole dragon vibe ngl.

More like before our tarnished starts their journey. Realistically speaking, going by my personality, I would want to subjugate everyone under my rule and abuse ppl for fun

Raya Lucaria probably. The Academy is relatively safe since they remained neutral during the war and closed the gates so you're pretty comfortable in the confines of the school and yeah, you'd have to be pretty sociopathic to be fully part of their ranks but everyone in the LB is fu**** up anyway (well, almost everyone). Plus, I really like everything about Magic and occult knowledge, I would probably dedicate my entire time to the absolute mastery of almost every form of sorcery in the LB (or at the very, very least every single Glintstone, Carian and Gravity spell). Also, Burger King crowns. Twinsage and Karolos crowns are the best. Oh, and Sellen of course.

Aside from that, I have ZERO trust in Miquella for obvious reasons (plus the Scarlet Rot) and the others are at best constantly at war and at worst absolute monsters, each one worse than the other. I mean, would you really want to side with Rykard?

Raya seems be popular choice

Just letting y’all know I’m hoping to finish working on updating the character section of the verse page with better organization and categorization. If anyone is interested in helping or seeing what I have done, the sections I have completed are on the bottom of my second sandbox.

Outside of that I plan on helping out soon with DLC pages, and I’m looking to try out some new calcs, or finish ones I’ve had on the backburner for a bit.
