Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

I know this was brought up already, but it's still not applied yet.
Goku should have Deconstruction for this right?

Also I love how the mainstream canon Goku is the only one without some type of Durability Negation move.

It was mentioned to just be Hakai. If we accept as that than we should add he can do it effortlessly now.
Yeah, sounds good to me. He did it extremely casually without any repercussions, unlike the time he did it against Zamasu.

What about about what he's body did for Moro punch that him break he's hand
Isn't that just an application for his Instinctive Reaction? His body hardens automatically in response to incoming trauma, which basically means he focuses more of his Ki on defense right? Unless his actual body's durability is increasing, in which case it might be Limited Reactive Evolution I think.

Yeah for now let's go it's part of instinctive reaction.

DB is insanely popular in and outside of Japan, so this isn't surprising at all. It's only rival in Japan as far as Shonen are concerned is One Piece iirc, and outside of Japan it's mainly Naruto. It's definitely Toei's biggest cash cow by far, so their reluctance/inability to produce a new series for this long is very perplexing.

At least I hope they use all this time off to focus on giving the new series the pre-production it deserves, so we don't end up with animation disasters like episodes 5 and 27/28 or rushed/underwritten arcs like the Future Trunks arc.

Part of it feels like they're at least waiting for the Moro arc to end, truth be told, at least to build a little bit of stockpile out. I hope they're able to actually give the new series more pre-production and are able to be a lot more comfortable if/when they do continue. I'd hate to see it rushed out.

I'm very afraid they're gonna bank on copying Toyotaro's manga and then end up face first into a wall because it's a monthly manga, which mean they're gonna run out very first for very long.

You thought Naruto had a filler hell ? It's gonna be nothing compared to what you'll get from trying to adapt a monthly manga.

Also nice, some DBS hype, though it will probably go nowhere again.

Dragon ball is still making bank, if they bring back DBS anime they would make more not sure what Toei is doing.

**** the idea of DB becoming some seasonal shit, that's such a shit take from Geekdom, it's crazy.

I want my weekly episode to get a nice little habit every week and get some fun, rather than get a handful of episode every year which only led to the plot either stagnating or going lightning fast.

Imagine the ******* hell that watching DBZ would turn out to be if you only got 25 episode a year. It would be awful.

I don't know.

I view current Dragon Ball as enjoyable trash, it's not "good" but it's mindless fun; But it definitely has moments where things feel like they drag on forever - Imagine how many scenes with Ribrianne would get cut if the ToP was apart of a season anime arc? That doesn't sound so bad.

If they made Dragon Ball a seasoned anime; I don't think I would mind it too much - they might have the time to actually improve the animation and writing quality of the show, and frankly, I would much prefer that.

I don't see what so bad about DB being seasonal.
It's not like the franchise had an actual "anime" in 18 years because the story of DB was OVER for more than 2 decades.
They brought it back because they want more money, not because the story is good or needed extra contents.

It did it job, DB franchise was never dead, but it bloomed again thx to the anime and they are still profiting big time from it without bothering themselves with another long running anime.

Being limited to 25 episode a year has NEVER been good for writing or pacing, that has NEVER happened.

Now imagine DBS, but waiting a year between every batch of 25 episode, it would be hell and unwatchable.

And for the animation : Look at One Punch Man season 2, That's all I have to say.

Dragomer really wants his early DB drug huh.

DBS ran for around 3 years and now it's been on a "short break" for nearly 3 years as well.
It's not like they have actual plans, they make shit up as they go.
At least poor writers won't have to come up with a story on the fly every week with Toriyama's 90% unfinished drafts.
