I'm neutral on this for now.
I took the liberty of organizing the OP, going from Primary Material, guides, and then Alternate Anime.
Anyway, I am going to remain neutral for now.
We are waiting and that's the final say.if there are so many staff neutrals then it can have a possible rating, no?
There is DBGT statement is there which is coming from narrator himself. And as it is canon, it would still work as primary support for all other secondary sources.I now disagree with infinite universe for Super since shenron's statement was only available in the Dubbed version. In the Japanese version ,it says "space is vast". That's it.
Uh, all of these arguments has been addressed in the previous crt except super shenron which was yeah mistranslation, regardless the primary source that supports the guidebook statements regarding infinite Universe was shown in DBGT ep 2 by narrator.I was asked to share this. It is by Sans015 who was banned via an IP overlap with GodlyCharmander and TioKill, so probably not the most credible source. And not going to weigh in an agreement, but they wanted me to share this.
Just read through it, but a lot of it seems to be translation gimmicks, some of which don't even make sense. Like, he takes the phrase "endless expanse" as figurative without ever actually explaining why it's figurative and why it can't possibly be literalI was asked to share this. It is by Sans015 who was banned via an IP overlap with GodlyCharmander and TioKill, so probably not the most credible source. And not going to weigh in an agreement, but they wanted me to share this.
The translations are exactly same except supershenron one and is done by @Executor_N0, it's mostly about his argument that the use of endless, infinite is flowery.Sans015 asked me to submit a translation request to the other staff to determine the most accurate translation.
Yeah and the light/galactic illuminations was already explained here"Sometimes people use infinite poetically while talking about something completely different contextually to here like emotions, this justifies my muh poetry with no coherent reason why cope" yeah that isn't too convincing of a refute.
Wait was that actually what he said?"Sometimes people use infinite poetically while talking about something completely different contextually to here like emotions, this justifies my muh poetry with no coherent reason why cope" yeah that isn't too convincing of a refute.
according to herms its poetic
Wait was that actually what he said?
Comparing literary hyperboles about emotional depth to an informative guidebook description is actually laughable. Some examples of it's poetic use:
"感謝報恩の念は吾人(ごじん)に無限の悦びと活力を与うるものにして此の念深き処如何なる艱難(かんなん)をも克服するを得 真の幸福を招来する根源となるものなり" "The feeling of gratitude and repayment gives us an infinite joy and energy. It is the source of true happiness, which enables us to overcome any difficulties, no matter how profound they may be."
"mugen" is used in a poetic sense. This is seen within the context of the phrase instead of the isolated word. Same goes for the Daizenshuu 4 statement
Natsume Soseki, a Japanese novelist, often employs the contrasting imagery of "hikari" (light) and "yami" (darkness) in his literary works. For instance, in his novel "Kokoro," the protagonist's inner turmoil, anxiety, and guilt are depicted as a pervasive "yami" that overshadows his life, while the hope for his redemption and renewal is symbolized by a distant "hikari" shining on the horizon.
according to herms its poetic
That is fair, I can't really be a spokes person for banned users so it will be a one time thing. Anyway, want to hear Firestorm's input but I'm leaning more so towards agreeing overall now.Uh, all of these arguments has been addressed in the previous crt except super shenron which was yeah mistranslation, regardless the primary source that supports the guidebook statements regarding infinite Universe was shown in DBGT ep 2 by narrator.
It's fine. Calm down jiren. These arguments are horrible, every time it comes to DB statements, its "flowery" or "poetic" its the same thing people denied 2-C Gt for so long, its not a good argument and is just used as an excuse to cope and deny the real mountains of evidence we have given, no actually counter arguments, just semantics, they have nothing to stand on. And this has all been addressed countless times in this and other threads.
I'm gonna meditateIt's fine. Calm down jiren.
I'm pretty skeptical about using a source from DBGT to upgrade the rest of the Dragon Ball franchise like Dragon Ball Super.Uh, all of these arguments has been addressed in the previous crt except super shenron which was yeah mistranslation, regardless the primary source that supports the guidebook statements regarding infinite Universe was shown in DBGT ep 2 by narrator.
They have the same cosmology, just from different timelines.I'm pretty skeptical about using a source from DBGT to upgrade the rest of the Dragon Ball franchise like Dragon Ball Super.
And js, dbs has the same universe tht has a observable(infintely exspanding ) nd unobservable(infinite space) aspect of its universe.I'm pretty skeptical about using a source from DBGT to upgrade the rest of the Dragon Ball franchise like Dragon Ball Super.
That's understandable but we have been following composite cosmology for dragonball since long if the given series are canon to each other. Just as how Z cosmology directly be used for GT. There are secondary source materials to confirm that the given composite idea behind Infinite Universe isn't wrong.I'm pretty skeptical about using a source from DBGT to upgrade the rest of the Dragon Ball franchise like Dragon Ball Super.
Honestly none fr frYeah even without dbgt statements, what actual contradictions do the scans have?
GT is a sequel to Z so using the same cosmology as it makes sense, but Super is not a sequel to GT.That's understandable but we have been following composite cosmology for dragonball since long if the given series are canon to each other. Doesn't have to be sequel, it still has the same cosmology.GT is a sequel to Z so using the same cosmology as it makes sense, but Super is not a sequel to GT.
But Super its still a sequel to Z.GT is a sequel to Z so using the same cosmology as it makes sense, but Super is not a sequel to GT.
Not quite what I meant; using stuff from Z in GT makes sense to me. Backscaling stuff from GT to Z, and then to Super does not make sense to me.But Super its still a sequel to Z.
So if we assume that DBGT's universe has the same cosmology as DBZ/Manga then it can be argue that the cosmology can be apply to DBS's universe.
But it's the same cosmology dawgNot quite what I meant; using stuff from Z in GT makes sense to me. Backscaling stuff from GT to Z, and then to Super does not make sense to me.
According to who? There's no law preventing them from being different to each other. But it's the same cosmology dawg
