Digimon Discussion Thread V-Mon Edition

Because they aren't Pokemon and they like to follow a crowd. I can bet that many of those people played like one Digimon game. And then generalized all the others.

No need to hate something for its popularity. People grew up with the anime more so then they did with the games, so they're naturally inclined to be more interested in the anime. Not to mention the anime is often heralded as among the best children's anime, and for good reason.

Both the games and anime are good for different reasons.

While I greatly prefer the games. Without the anime, I highly doubt Digimon would be on anyone's radar. Especially overseas.

You misunderstood. I was talking about the whole trope of Digimon games being garbage, not people not liking the games as much as the anime. People still say the games are garbage even after CS and Ne0.

Dawn/Dusk, without a doubt. The rate in which you grow in power and the rate enemies and bosses ramp up in difficulty is not at all at the same pace, which means you just blow through the game without any resistance.

As for hardest, I'd say PSP or Cyber Sleuth.

Digimon games as a whole has it's ups and downs, often very flawed but the furure is bright. The psp adventure game looked really easy, CS on hard mode can just be ridiculous, the vpet type games can be very hard and confusing early on.

Adventure PSP starts off really easy, but has a verysharp difficulty spike in the Dark Masters arc. MetalSeadramon, MetalEtemon and Piemon are just insane. MetalEtemon in particular due to only having one controllable party member.

The difficulty past that point is really weird, Apocalymon is either great challenge or a damage sponge, while Diablomon is just a tedious damage sponge and Gankoomon...well...I beat him without even paying attention to the game. The ShineGreymon boss fight is just pathetic too, I think I three shot it or so.

I beat the PSP game so much I even wrote a tier list for it somewhere.

Not a huge fan of the luck-based pulls of Digimon Linkz at the moment.

Tried to pull for Omnimon, got PlatinumNumemon instead.

I don't hate PlatinumNumemon, and he's actually proven quite useful with how tanky he is, but it's still a downer...

Does PlatinumNumemon have the same Experience points boosts in Linkz as he does in Cyber Sleuth? It could be pretty insane, getting 600,000 experience in a single match.

I really want to play Linkz, if only it was supported by Amazon Fire.

@Darkanine

Nope. There aren't any passive skills in Linkz aside from Leader Skills, which are limited to things like attack boosts, defense boosts, e.t.c.

Does he have to be in the main party and not the reserve slot for the EXP boost?

Yeah, if any series has justifiable recolors, it's Digimon. Their backstories often brought light to it as well, like how DarkTyrannomon was used as a guinea pig for an evil hacker or something.

Or how some Digimon at some time just got erased from existence and changed colors...right ChaosGallantmon? Cherubimon Vice?

Mameo (DW1 Protag), Akira (DW2 Protag), Junior (DW3 Protag).

Mameo Canon partners are Mamemon and Machinedramon, no idea about the other two.

But I've played

Digimon Racing, Digimon World Dawn/Dusk/DS/Championship, A few seconds of Next 0rder before happily getting rid of it (sorry, I don't like the playstyle), Cyber Sleuth, Digimon Linkz, Digimonn World Data Squad, Digimon All-Star Rumble and will play Hacker's Memory. :p

I remember buying Digimon World 3 from a kid at my daycare for a broken copy of Destroy All Humans. I'm pretty sure I got the bad end of that deal, but oh well.

V-Mon is plastered all over DW2 material so that may be a safe bet, but I never played much of DW2. I wonder if that games final boss, OverLord GAIA, has any impressive feats.

Doesn't he literally use several high-tier Digimon as his swords? Or was that a different final boss?

That was Armamon who used several Barbamon as swords.

We don't know enough about his skills and such. Lost Evolution hasn't been translated yet.
