DBD is crossover scaling and thus isn’t usable though?

DBD is, funnily enough, one of the few crossover games that you couldn’t use for scaling even if crossover scaling is allowed. The Entity canonically buffs and nerfs the Killers to make the trials fair. It’s most obvious in Freddy’s lore entry where it outright states that his powers were modified by the Entity.

You would think that when donations start to slowdown they would post the most hype match ups to pick it back up again. Seems logical, no? But no, they posted the most mid, "who asked for this", match up.

Like, they could still have had Aang vs Traveler as an unrevealed match up. Who was in charge of posting it as the stretch goal?

Moro vs Tirek is actually a decent MU, so I think it has a chance of happening. With that said...

4Chan spies once showed that DB Discord has gotten much more MLP fans to the point they even did MLP MU polls. And frankly, a lot of MLP MUs turn into kinda shit really fast. They were unironically polling Goku vs Applejack, jfc.

The well for decent MLP MUs dries really fast after MoroTirek.

Emmet is also pretty unresearched so learning about his stuff would be interesting. I've said this in other places already but this kinda move is honestly really on brand for Death Battle. Is there anything more Death Battle then being out of touch and picking some match that no one actually wants and then getting surprised that no one actually liked it.
Like I can see their reasoning
  • Avatar is an extremely popular series and Aang is popular
  • Genshin is one of the most popular game in the world at the moment
But anyone with the most basic understanding of this kind of stuff would tell you why this is a dumb idea.
Yes Aang is a popular characters but he's not some massive "all eyes on me" character who can get people hyped up, doesn't help that he already got a match in the past. For the people who would want an Aang retrained match up, they want it with a character who they actually have thought of fighting Aang before.
At the same time despite being the "main character" for such a massive game from the little I know about the game I can fairly firmly say no one actually cares for them. I've seen people obsess over characters from this series but unless they're being directly used for self inserting material nobody cares. Like I'm sure someone out there stands them but seriously it's not on the same level as some of the actual popular characters. They're just there.

And there’s also the fact that MLP has been used four times. Making it one of the most used episodes of the show. There are a lot of iconic verses that haven’t been touched by death battle and I would prioritize using those instead of verses that have been on 4+ times.

And yes, one of the server admins took over the server and made the entire thing MLP themed for like a couple months. Which if you’re into that kind of thing cool, but it wasn’t fun for people like me who aren’t into ponies.

Without counting Kickstarter eps, MLP is indeed in Top 20 most used verses in DB. Its been in DB more than One Piece.

MLP has had rocky history with DB and tbh it might just continue it seems.

I’d just leave MLP be for a while, they’ve had plenty of representation. Focus on the popular stuff that hasn’t been used. Like hell, Evangelion, one of the most iconic anime EVER, hasn’t been touched.

And we haven’t had a kaiju fight since season ******* 6. It’s about time we got a new one, and not “reuse two characters, one from a spammed franchise that we’ve used twice already.”

We need new shit, variety is the spice of life.

That's wild actually. We've only gotten Zoro, Ace, and Sanji. But no Luffy? I get not wanting to use him till his series is over, but that might be too late with how long Once Piece can go on for.
 
I still do maintain that MoroTirek would work. Unlike most MLP MUs feeling bad and are stupid cringe, that one actually thematically fits really well and is stupid but really funny since they have basically same story. But its like the final MLP MU thats above decent.

Also because of S10 stats, Moro might actually win or has a chance of winning, unlike if we were to use VSW stats which would make it spite MU.

This would just have the same issue of Asura vs Kratos where you have to somehow convince people that the character that could beat the shit out of Goku doesn't insta stomp the MLP character. Personally I don't believe the same stuff this site has for characters like Kratos or Tirek but I can understand why others do. And it definitely doesn't help that the feats they showed off for Twilight makes the idea of Tirek standing a chance against Moro seem even more ridiculous since her big durability feat was Tirek hitting her with the force of 8 million newtons.
 
When I can commission a track by therewolf media it'll be called Crowned Badge Burden for Ruby Rose vs Twilight Sparkle (Dragon Ball RWBY vs My Little Pony) after all OC tracks are okay and have been done before

  • both are magic-using heroines
  • both are the respective leaders of their friends to fight against evil villains
  • both fought immortal beings, and even a life absorbing villain who's really old
  • both of them feel the burdens and pressures of being a leader and their responsibilities placed on them so they think they need to be perfect
  • both have united the world and are in the history books
  • both were selected to go to a special school after a immortal peace keeper who runs said school saw their potential (Ozpin seeing Ruby fight Roman and seeing her silver eyes, and Celestia seeing Twilight's magical potential after hatching Spike and getting her cutie mark)
  • After the same said Immortal peace keeper makes them leader of their friends they made they become less socially awkward
  • both are optimistic hopefully protagonists who teach others the importance of friendship/teamwork and how trust is a risk
  • both like books
  • both of their powers are powered by emotions and focus (Magic and Petal Burst, Ki, Ultra Synergy/Ultra Instinct respectively)
  • both got their potential unlocked (Twilight becoming a alicorn, and Ruby getting Ultimate from Elder Kai), and have even gone beyond this too (Rainbow Power and Ultra Synergy/Ultra Instinct)

Personally a part of me wants to see Death from Have a Nice Death because I genuinely enjoyed the game and also I spent all that time making that RT for him that took so god damn long and it would feel nice to know that someone actually used it for something. I thought about making a profile for him on this site but I have no idea how to go about doing that so I didn't bother. Seriously though, would be really nice if VSBW had a proper tutorial on how to go about doing that or at least one that's easier to find

Moro's problem is that we dont know how he sounds like, so thatd have to be created.

I dont think Gohan, Piccolo & Cell are that obvious because they do not have good MUs, otherwise theyd already be in. Hell, its King Piccolo vs Sukuna that might be only salvageable MU from these 3 and even then technically no because that aint Piccolo.

There are about 3 very likely MUs for MLP currently.

Morek (Peak)
Luna vs Darkrai (thematically great)
Sonic vs Rainbow Dash (Legacy MU)

Then there's MUs that are just kinda okay but aren't like ground shattering. Celestia vs Palutena/Twilight vs Sora (KH)/Sunset Shimmer vs Chara Dreemur/Mane 6 vs the Sailor Scouts (I made this one). The cast really seems to like working with MLP, and their episodes always have a pretty damn good turnout, so it's just natural to expect a couple more MLP matchups; really though, as long as Morek happens I think I'll be happy.

And for the record there's also Twilight vs Goku. It should happen for the simple fact that the Latin American VA for Goku has a daughter who is the Latin American VA for Twilight. Daughter vs Father MU right there, AKA PEAK

Honest to God, they should just cast Chris Guerrero to voice Moro. He is literally the perfect choice, regardless of any VA the official dub can find. He just has that deep, threatening, more sophisticated aura that Moro has - and DB has already worked with him when he voiced Pain of all people so Chris needs a runback in general.

Goku vs Twilight is example of good MU well being dry. Hell, ironically its Goku vs Sonic thatd be way bigger deal than SonicRD as well, thus making both of those unlikely. LunaDarkrai seems to kind of work, but frankly as far as I see it, its due to Darkrai being neat to be in DB, not Luna.

MoroTirek compared to these is significantly better, and arguably only one that would be a missed opportunity, if it didnt happen. Its also somewhat popular elsewhere so community does know about it. It would have been way better received than AangTraveler lol
