Forgetting getting closer, at this point Sonic fans are pretty much scraping the surface of the sun with these upgrades

Been wondering, who'd be a good opponent for Kaido?
kings-of-a-new-world-orochi-vs-kaido-one-punch-man-one-piece-v0-2vmyoj0m8bla1.png

Orochi (One-Punch Man)

- Extraordinary large beings with a disdain towards humans who were once regular humans until something happened which would change their bodies. (Psykos experimenting on Orochi/Kaido eating the Uo Uo no Mi.)

- They both have goals of taking over the world for different reasons. (Kaido wants to take over the world because it bored him. Orochi wants to take over the world to start a new age of monsters.)

- They both build groups of strong beings with extraordinary abilities to use for an all-out war, using their unrivaled power to govern them with fear and intimidation. (Monster Association/Beast Pirates)

- They both show intolerance to others' weakness, to the point of killing those that have outlived their usefulness.

- Both are highly regarded as the strongest creatures in their verse, earning highly regarded status'. (Kaido's Yonko status/Orochi's threat level as Dragon)

- They both care about the strength and destructive power of other beings above anything else.

- Both have the ability to alter their bodies into various forms with a dragon theme to them.

- Despite their merciless nature, both have a respect for power and can acknowledge other individuals with exceptional strength, even attempting to recruit those after defeating them.

- Both have relations with artificial consumables that if consumed, alters the appearance of the consumer and enhances their physical abilities. (Monster Cells/SMILE Fruits)

- Both would later in the story team up with a female, increasing their destructive potential even more. (Psykos and Big Mom) However, their partnership is very shaky. (Kaido and Big Mom constantly trade insults./Psykos merely uses Orochi as a tool to increase her power.)

- They would encounter the main protagonist of their verse which ends up in a battle breaking out, with both battles ending in one attack. (Orochi was defeated by one punch from Saitama. Kaido knocks Luffy unconscious with one strike from his club.)

- This partnership would lead to both them and their partner facing off against a multitude of powerful opponents. (Most of the S-Class Heroes/Luffy, Law, Kid, Zoro and Killer.)

- Both would meet their end in a pool of molten rock after a hard and long fight.

Madara? There's a few similarities there, and they're some of the most popular antagonists of their series, plus it comes with a free Kaiju battle, plus Madara has 2 Dragon-themed attacks.

Acnologia is the obvious and far better one though.

K’ VS Scarlet Spider (The King of Fighters VS Marvel)- They don’t know who K’ is. Sam understands the connections, but doubts KOF scaling reaches the level of Spider-Man characters. John says most SNK characters can reach city-level. Sam ends up saying it seems cool.

Yang VS Bakugo (RWBY VS My Hero Academia)- Sam says they did it as a DBX because they think it’s a great MU, and Ben and John agree that it’s good. However, Sam says it “might be against the law” to bring back Yang before bringing in Ruby. Ben thinks Bakugo would be fun to have in DB.

Hu Tao VS Hanako (Genshin Impact VS Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun)- John explains the premise of Hanako-Kun to Sam, who has never heard of it. Sam thinks it sounds niche, but cool. Sam and Ben say that they have to do Genshin Impact eventually.

SCP-682 VS Doomsday (SCP Foundation VS DC)- Sam says it’s a very cool idea, but one that would be extremely challenging to execute. Ben says the challenge with SCPs would be figuring out how to interpret them, since everybody has their own idea of how each SCP should behave (something he says is also a problem with book characters). Sam considers the possibility of putting an SCP into a DBX to test the waters, but also doesn’t think SCPs would really work without an analysis. John summarizes all this by saying that there is no simple SCP MU, and they’re all complicated to some degree.

Ori VS The Knight (Ori and the Blind Forest VS Hollow Knight)- It’s Sam’s current most wanted episode, though he does note the size difference. Ben says that size doesn’t really matter if the characters are similar in power, though John argues that any feat the Knight performs would have to be downscaled to account for his small size. John says the size difference is the only thing that holds the MU back in his eyes, and Ben argues that the Knight fights beings much larger than him anyway.

Nazo VS Seelkadoom VS Aeon VS Turbo Mecha Sonic (Nazo Unleashed VS Sonic RPG VS Final Fantasy Sonic X VS Super Mario Bros. Z)- Ben and John only know Nazo and Turbo Mecha Sonic. Sam comments that “if there’s any franchise that has enough significant OCs for a battle royale, it’s Sonic the Hedgehog”. John says it’d be “a very awkward fight”. Sam thinks it’s pretty fun. The discussion winds up being mostly about Sonic OCs in general.

Pathfinder VS Bastion (Apex Legends VS Overwatch)- Sam thinks it’s pretty good and has cool fight potential, but he feels like they’ve “missed the mark on this one”. It’s then argued that Apex is still big, and Overwatch will always be well-known despite all it’s rough patches. Ben is surprised they’ve never done an Apex VS Overwatch episode. The discussion is derailed by the possibility of an Overwatch anime getting raised.

Beartic VS Polar Bear (Pokemon VS Ice Climber)- John laughs, and Ben says “What in the world?” Sam suggests adding in Ice Bear from We Bare Bears. John questions if the Ice Climber Polar Bear has any feats, and Ben responds that he can take multiple hits from Popo and Nana, who John notes are mountain-level thanks to their Final Smash (“Definitely on par with a Pokemon” /s).

Stein VS Faust (Soul Eater VS Guilty Gear)- None of them know anything about Faust (Sam has played a lot of Guilty Gear, but “you could play a few hundred hours of Guilty Gear without learning anything about the world”). Sam says he gets it, though.

Luffy VS Toriko (One Piece VS Toriko)- Ben asks if it would be an eating competition or something along those lines, and Sam thinks this concept is more interesting than a regular fight. Ben wonders if Toriko could make a meal so good that it defeats Luffy, and John mentions that we’ve seen Luffy eat so much food, he couldn’t move, so Ben says Toriko wins.

Mipha VS Katara (The Legend of Zelda VS Avatar: The Last Airbender)- Sam doesn’t remember Mipha doing much of anything. Ben mentions some of the stuff she does, but doesn’t think she has water powers like Katara, until John reminds him that Sidon does in TOTK. Ben says he could “get behind this”, and Sam says it’s a cool idea, but there might not be enough information on Mipha. Ben wants to bring in Katara.

The Mandalorian VS Courier Six (Star Wars VS Fallout)- Sam says it makes a lot of sense and is really cool, but he doesn’t think Fallout tech could stand up to Star Wars tech. Ben argues that giving the Courier their absolute best possible equipment could even the playing field to an extent. John says it would come down to if any of the Courier’s weapons could get past Beskar, and Sam responds that the Fat Man nuke launcher probably could. John ultimately says he really likes the MU.

Sabito Heart VS Toji Fushiguro (Ordeal VS Jujutsu Kaisen)- None of them know who Sabito is.

Luther Strode VS Rick Taylor (Image VS Splatterhouse)- Sam calls Splatterhouse a deep pull. He doesn’t know anything about Luther Strode (for some reason, he thought Comix Zone was a Luther Strode game). Sam calls the two characters “very 90s badasses”, and thinks the Splatterhouse game on the Sega Genesis kicks ass.

Ben Tennyson VS Tommy Oliver (Ben 10 VS Power Rangers)- They initially think the only connection is the characters' association with the color green. Upon reading the connections provided by OP, Ben says they’ve “had matchups with less connections”, and that “it’s not always about the connections. It’s just about whether or not the fight could be fun”. Sam says it’s probably interesting if you take out Alien X. John says it’s “always fun to bring Tommy back again”, and Ben jokes that they’ll keep doing Power Rangers episodes, but only with Tommy.

Sakuya VS Hit (Touhou VS Dragon Ball)- Sam understands the premise, which is based around them both having time powers. They discuss how Hit hasn’t done anything in a while despite being built up as a big deal.

Duke Nukem VS Serious Sam- Ben calls it a classic Death Battle request. Sam says it’s “peak 90s testosterone bullshit”, and he’s “kinda here for it”.

Rick Grimes VS Joel Miller (The Walking Dead VS The Last of Us)- Sam has never seen it before, but understands the idea. Ben says it’s another take on the Ellie VS Clementine premise, and John calls it “the most grounded of grounded fights”. Sam says Joel wins just because TLOU is a better franchise than TWD.

BOTW Link VS The Tarnished (The Legend of Zelda VS Elden Ring)- “They were pretty popular in the same year”. Sam thinks TOTK is overrated (he says it’s a 7/10), which Ben strongly disagrees with.

Donkey Kong VS Crash Bandicoot- Sam says it’s “kinda based” and he likes it. They find it funny how the connections included that they’re both mammals (“Isn’t every other platformer in existence a mammal who jumps on platforms?”).

(Alucard VS D, Kasen Ibaraki VS Fleetway Sonic, Ellie VS Clementine, and Anne VS Luz all got skipped past because they’ve been talked about many times already.

Anyways
Fireside chat
Have talked about doing Professor X on the show before
Said Krillin VS Omi is good
They’ve seen Hazbin Hotel (at least Ben has) but haven’t considered any matchups
Archie Knuckles was their big response for bringing on Archie again
Have tossed around Dredd VS Punisher & Spawn VS Ghost Rider and rly like both
Acknowledged how they haven’t used video games as much on the show but are making a resurgence
Ben said they’ll post Beerus VS Galaxia fight only at some point
Guts and Smokey Bear are Ben’s biggest characters he gained respect for by doing them on the show
Mentioned how it’s kinda tough to do Luffy with how much he’s changing
S11 does not have a release date yet, but the window is May - June
Said they will do something different than usual for a release schedule (maybe 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks)
Hyped up doing some “wild ideas” this season and doing more membership stuf
Luffy needs to be the only character they wait on before doing them in DB

Yang VS Bakugo (RWBY VS My Hero Academia)- Sam says they did it as a DBX because they think it’s a great MU, and Ben and John agree that it’s good. However, Sam says it “might be against the law” to bring back Yang before bringing in Ruby. Ben thinks Bakugo would be fun to have in DB.
A good match up for Bakugo could be Dot Barrett (from Mashle)

"Sam understands the connections, but doubts KOF scaling reaches the level of Spider-Man characters."

Last i checked Spidey characters at max were town level, KOF with just geese they shown city to island level, how you think that....

"John says most SNK characters can reach city-level."

At minimum yes
Tbf certain Spider man like Peter can reach city

Also is there any snk fans on this site the verse is practically dead here

SNK popularity is dying all over the world, but people will strive to push for Iori Yagami vs Kazuya Mishima.

Someone pointed out that 6 is the Godzilla guy from The man in a suit vs Springtrap. I don't get the hype behind The man in a suit. Sure it's impressive for a 17 something year old to make that series but the writing, the plot and the grammar is crappy.
Why do Touhou thumbnails use Lost Word and fan art a lot instead of using the canonical drawings? For other characters, I see people use canon art rather than fan art.

Elimination: Which Season 10 Combatant has the Best Backstory? Vote for Your Least Favourite

The daddy issues emo girl is out, her life sucks to be honest, summoning a demo overlord if you ever emote must've be hella stressful. Among the thirty-two characters that appeared in Death Battle in Season 10, who among them had the best backstory? Backstories can be comprised of either background lore or actually shown events. They can be in flashbacks or during the middle of a story when a character is introduced, either way their backstory makes up who they are and their motives, what pushes them to continue or explain why they do what they do the present day. We'll find out who has the best among the rest by voting off the weakest from the strongest.

Side Note: While Guts and Raven did technically tie on the tie breaker poll, I did discount one of the votes going to Guts due to one the people doing so announcing that they were spite voting. If you're going to do that, do that in private or else its not going to count.
