Reach Cosmographias
Cosmographias is a grand adventure to the end of the Universe, in search for answers to the great mysteries of reality. The Universe is destined to die, taking with it everything it has birthed within. Humanity, still bound by its confines, is deathly afraid of its predetermined demise and is hunting for every crumb of information, hoping to ascend Humanity beyond Reality. The hopes lies at the end of the Universe and beyond, as faint rhythmic gravitional waves were detected from the far edges. You are a Homunculi, a being between human and god, created and birthed for this specific task. But time has passed, far beyond the scopes of your initial mission and Humanity is nowhere to be found. The End Times are upon us. With nothing else left, you embark on the Voyage to the end, searching for more than just the conclusion to your mission. What happened to Humanity? What happenes after? What is left out there? And who are you, in the end?
The Primer contains a basic character sheet on which you can create your Homunculi. As a newborn granted unfathomable mental faculties, you are a, in its core, naive being thrust into the biggest unknown possible. How your naivity manifest is up to you. Every Homunculi is born with 3 skills of your wish to grade 1, on top of your Role bonuses (So a Homunculi born with grade 1 in combat and the Weapon Role would have a grade 3 in combat). Every Homunculi starts with 2 grades in Willpower and Integrity, which represents your mental and physical health respectivly. Should either value reach grade 0, the Homunculi dies. Willpower and Integrity are the only skills capped at Grade 2.
Based on the Primer provided above. You will be faced with various kinds of challenges and phenomenons called Events on your voyage that requires various skills and levelheaded decision making to navigate them successful. Events are divided into 2 kind, Individual and Group checks. A Event will require certain grades in a checked Skill in order to be tackled succesfully, while lacking the grades can increase the challenge of the Event significantly. There are 4 possible outcomes to a Event; Prosperous, Successful, Unsuccessful and Failure. A Prosperous Event requires matching to exceeding grades and can award powerful technology that can raise grades. Successful Events can award smaller benefits. A Unsuccessful event can damage technology and thus degrade skills. A Failure can cause permanent demerits and even potentially death. Grave mistakes in a event can reduce Willpower and Integrity grades by 1. Grades in those skills can be restored through supplies
Should a Event occur that exceed your grades by 2, Prosperous outcomes become impossible, and a adjacent Skill is checked (This not always possible depending on the Event). Should even that requirement be not met, then Successful outcomes become impossible too. being 1 Grade below requirement will raise the difficulty of the Event, either in higher chance of risk or lower chance of beneficial occurences inside Events.
