Absorption = Higher Resistance?

I may ask: Does character who have the abilitie to absorb certain hax have greater resistance than a character that can only withstand it.

Like, if someone can imbue his whole body with energy/fire/electricity/radiation or whatever they can absorb has greater resistance at that element/material/energy to a person who can just simply withstand it.

It'll heavily depend on what characters you're comparing. If a character that has a limit to how much of X they can absorb, while other character has near immunity to said X element, then Resistance > Absorption, but the reverse may very well happen.

I'm most likely refering with both sides with equals amounts.

Let'say: Someone who can casually absorb at least 10,000 bolts of electricity Vs Someone who is casually undamaged by at least10,000 bolts of electricity.

Both suffer the same quantity of damage.

In that case they would give equal resistance, with absorption may being a little better depending on how it works (If the user can use the absorbed energy for his advantage, etc).
