Realizing an important fact, Tails returns to his serious expression and shows Sonic the readings from the energy sensor in his hand.

“Look at this energy signature! This energy wavelength… It’s the aftermath of the Phantom Ruby energy!”

…Phantom Ruby.

It is a mysterious stone that has the power to influence the brains of living things, implanting a powerful virtual reality and distorting the world. It was lost after a previous battle with Eggman’s army and supposedly vanished from this world, but…

“The energy is emanating from this botanical garden in all directions. A signature this big in the aftermath is surely going to be felt all over the world… Which means…”

Sonic, who had leapt to his feet and landed on the “ark” at the center of the Ruby Orchard, grinned and continued.

“This ark is ground zero of the anomaly.”

When an unsettling wind blew through, rustling the leaves of the tricky flowers underfoot, Tails, who was already inside the ark investigating, continued further.

“Yeah! This ark was also a mutation of Eggman’s battleship!
I found parts that looked like capacitors, but they still had a powerful energy reading. I think it must have been left over from the previous battle, charged with the energy of the Phantom Ruby for one activation…
Eggman must have made the most effective use of this in some way!”

Tails is excited and rattles on in one breath. But then… he lapses and slumps his shoulders again.

“But this situation that’s happening in the world right now is a little different from virtual reality, and there’s no way that a single trigger could cause such a disparate set of circumstances… There’s still so much I don’t understand. Erm, I’m sorry…”

Something related to the Phantom Ruby somehow caused the events of the Isekai Ogiri stories, it's a bit different from what happened in Forces with Virtual Reality, but details are still being investigated by Tails. They are going to look for Eggman in the other side of the world wondering if he knows what happened.

I still think that everything is virtual reality makes zero ******* sense, it reminds me of baki's imagination,when in the same verse is consider ''imaginary''but somehow people can see it and feel it

What do you mean by that? Afaik that's kind of the Phantom Ruby's gimmick, taking illusions and making ethem tangible things which can be seen and interacted with.

It's funny how people bitch about Sonic having lightning effects like it's some kinda recent thing made up by the films specifically to insult them. They REALLY haven't been paying attention to the visuals for the last 2 decades...

I think it will be because the fans give the modern era such a bad name,that people just don't have enough time to see them.
