Mario Bros: Profile Overhaul(s) #1

After the success of my last thread, I kinda got a little excited and went ahead to make this one.

The profiles for Mario characters are atrocious, so I decided to start overhauling that garbage with new ones that I plan to make.

The overhauled profile in question.

I only posted one for now, just to determine whether the bullet point format looked appealing or if it should be reverted to the traditional format.

I also added some much needed scans for abilities/resistances, organized the tabs, and added previously accepted CRTs that, for whatever reason, never saw the light of day.

For whatever is missing a scan, I couldn't quite find anything, so I chose to leave it blank in case anyone here knew.
 
Aside from a few grammar tweaks (You are not have the period supposed to have a period at the end of the bubbles like this.) but they are (Supposed to be like this)

However, looking pretty good and neatly organized regardless.

This is a massive improvement in terms of formatting and sourcing, excellent work on that (also removed some other invalid abilities I was thinking of removing lol), though I'll point out a few small issues.

-Adaptation is fine but I'm not sure what Prankster Comets have to do with anything, I don't think having to collect coins, go fast, or avoid getting hit is so far outside what Mario does regularly that he'd have to "adapt" to it.

-Super Mario! being size manip is obviously fine, but it is activated via an item so it shouldn't be in his base key.

-Energy projection is weird, because are we sure those aren't just tennis balls? Since it's a tennis game? Regardless, energy manipulation is kinda redundant and shouldn't be there.

-Paper Mario phasing through dimensions is Dimensional Manipulation now.

-Animal Manipulation makes no sense, since Mario isn't directly controlling any animals, just turning into one with stuff like the cat suit.

-Pocket reality manipulation needs to go, since this thread determined that Bowser creating the painting worlds didn't actually happen.

-This may be (slightly) too controversial for this thread, but void/EE resistance is weird and should go. We have no indication that they survived the actual EE of the void, and since the canon explanation is literally just "IDK!!", assuming that they did feels weird. Besides, it begs the question of how they're back in Flipside after the fact if it was just EE.

Other than those things, this is super solid, can't stress enough how much this was needed lol

It looks. Amazing, that aside, Mario's weakness tab should remove the "impulsive" bit as there is nothing to back it up. And the Bottomless glove scan would make sure the items don't get removed in battle UNLESS! I am missing something.

I'll review the hax stuff later but keep it up!

Nah, that's fine, I'm just curious if the balls he shoots at mecha Bowser are legit energy or just tennis balls with an aura around them (since iirc some shots in the tennis games have that effect).

they were still around despite Sammer Kingdom's erasure
Hmm, I mean they were obviously damaged to some degree, so I would say a limited resistance since they can get damaged/petrified(?). I'm fine with it either way though.

so do you mean a better description detailing what it gives you?

No I mean just a statement of being invincible or invulnerable isn't enough to give it anymore, you need a mechanic for it now
For example, God Cards from Yu-Gi-Oh have Invul due to their divine hierarchy and negating everything that comes at them, Ogodumon and his X form from Digimon cannot be harmed due to any attacks with malice getting counterbalanced, and the latter having a similar data structure to Yggdrasil, who cannot be harmed due to the laws of the world.

Honestly incredibly good work here, me and Fuji were planning on fixing a lot of this so you saved us a lot of time, I only request the changes Fuji already made.

I want to point out, there’s issues with at least two of the scans/requests on this thread. Resurrection and Statistic Reduction depend entirely on scans included from the Galaxy 1 Prima Guide, which I’m almost certain we do not accept on profiles at all. Especially since the Prima Guide for Galaxy 1 especially notoriously has a lot of contradictory statements & feats within it, so these two feats should probably not be added lest they have other evidence.

Ah did not realize those two were from Prima, yeah should not be added in that case, though I would think statistics reduction should stay as Daredevils drop Mario's HP to 1 in-game

I disagree with the Galaxy guides not being usable for the abilities. But that's a whole argument I don't care enough about to debate. This site can downplay and nerf Mario as much as it wants.

In either case, this is fine for now. Who knows if it'll change in the future (knowing this wiki probably not)

he already has NPI for slap boxing Boos and fighting Cackletta's soul

as for the mind manip, I decided to use Fury Bowser's version instead of whatever "Minor" resistance to it he had before
 
OHK is not death manipulation at best it could be higher with, as that was a power that probably should have been deleted for a while. He should also probably get supernatural luck because STACHE which increases odds of critical hits and in paper jam supposedly increases the chances of enemies dropping items after battle.

The time limit would be dependent on the ability really. I don’t think anyone would argue against Starmen being limited time, for instance. But Mario losing abilities after a hard hit is pretty consistent across canon like how Kirby can get his copy abilities knocked out of him with a heavy hit so it can probably stay.

while he can easily get the ability back with the bottomless gloves it’s still a weakness to note with his power ups.


Also there's no proof Tippi teleports them at all. Just wanna say that.

Also the Zeekeeper should have a link to it's own profile so people can see why it's such a notable summon (it's an AP increase to a whole other tier)
There’s not really proof of anything in that scene tbh. Tippi just has the most implications because she has a flashback cutscene immediately after the void connects, which implies something of note happens with her.

wouldn't that just be probability manip?
it fits the definition of supernatural luck far more. Probability Manip is a more specific ability that needs more specific reasoning iirc.

but didn't Mario had Fate manipulation?
I think it got removed because of how weird it was and the fact it’s been contradicted overtime. It was the one from SMRPG where he wished to be able ti always rescue Peach. There’s been a few occasions where he was unable to rescue her like Luigi’s Mansion, Super Princess Peach, etc

Well, he's not the main character in those games anymore, so it would be weird for Mario to save peach in her own game.
 
I know Rosalina mentioned something about a certain 'desire' to be with one's loved ones, with it defying the laws of time and space

perhaps that could be looked in to
