God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

Why is soul count not a viable way of scaling anymore?

How do you determine layers of soul hax? Like dimensions?
i think the easiest way would be : i have soul resistance and then someone able to bypass it via soul manip, but someone able to resist that soul manip then it would mean he has higher layer of resistance of soul hax i think.

so the quantity of resistance layers does not matter. Instead you need proof that i can resist attack that able to bypass resistance.

Generally any kind of hax we used to judge based on numbers (soul manipulation, mind manipulation, etc...) was changed to just count as range instead of potency which is why soul count isn't viable anymore.

Determining layers is as simple as seeing how someone with soul hax can affect someone with soul resistance. If A resists having their soul ripped out but B can take their soul anyway, then the potency of B's soul hax is better than normal users.

Honestly, Baldur is weird. He gets beaten by a really out-of-shape Kratos who lacked his blades and only cheap shots the World Serpent.

Hmmmmm.

Still hard to judge. Baldur is kind of bottom rung tier because he took out Jormie using cheap shots. Against 2018 Kratos however, whenever the latter gets pissed, Baldur gets his shit rocked to the core.

What the **** is the point of adapting a story driven game that may as well be an interactive movie, while telling the same plot? Why not a prequel of how Kratos first got to the Norse lands and eventually meeting Faye?

Also if there's one way to adapt God of War in a different format an animated series would be the way to go. Arcane, Cyberpunk and Castlevania have proven how good an animated adaptation of a video game can be.
