God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

To be fair, cooling a body to Absolute Zero and generating ice/being at that temperature aren't exactly the same thing. The latter is pretty garbage compared to most ice users in fiction while the former is the impressive part.

"Hundreds of times below absolute zero, the absolute coldest possible temperature, for doing something far above absolute zero"
Except Flash freezing a person is FAR below absolute zero, not above.

But if the site has strict standards for it that's a different thing.

how does his realm shift hax work exactly?
It distorts space and time and shifts an entire realm to Kratos's liking. Heimdall abuses it when Kratos lands one on him and goes into warrior overdrive that Kratos doesn't need Draupnir anymore.

any other hax?
He gets back Soul Manip and Soul Summoning akin to Army of Sparta.

Going back to the silly 'piercing durability' trope that seems to negatively affect nearly everyone in fiction besides Superman and other similar flying brick type template characters, I got to say Kratos actually has a plethora of good feats against 'piercing attacks', and they often are subtle and go unnoticed.

Like the unavoidable QTE against the basilisk in chains of Olympus where it grabs you around the midsection with its giant, super sharp teeth (that are almost as big as Kratos) and tosses him to the side. Kratos doesn't even bleed from that. Or when Atropos grabs Kratos from behind with her Katana looking finger nails, Kratos doesn't bleed from that either. Or the Blade of Olympus QTE from GoW3 Zeus where Kratos blocks it with his palms--heck even if you fail those QTEs Zeus simply slashes Kratos across his ribs and despite doing a heavy draw cut only manages a shallow cut into Kratos' skin.

There are more too but those came to mind first.

Are there any other hack n slash/warrior type characters in fiction that have good piercing resistance feats from Tier 9 and up piercing attacks? Only other one that comes to mind is Aquaman.

Every other one seems affected by writers that don't understand basic physics.

Novel actually confirms that Atropos's scissor blades pierced through Kratos and that he writhed in agony as his muscles were being cut, he tried breaking free from her grip but she was simply too powerful, so Kratos had to rely on good-old-fashioned punching power. Though this is ironically another regeneration feat for Kratos.

TBF I'd say their hands are a lot stronger in terms of both piercing/slashing resistance than their torso, which edges out in blunt-force trauma resistance.

Kratos also casually reduces Perseus's blade to dust with his bare hands though by mid-game GOW2 he's already Tier 2.

I know what the novel says but the novel contradicts the game's scene in which he got out of her grip very easily, with no apparent struggle or pain.

So that naturally takes precedence.

He actually never escaped her grip, she tossed him onto the Blade. That's what the novel scene was talking about, right when Atropos takes him to that moment of Ares vs Kratos in the past.

Yes he did.

I'm talking about the scene where she grabbed him from behind while he was fighting Lahkesis. He got out of the way in time for her to stab Atropos in the head with her scythe instead of skewering him.

That's not the scene where the Novel states that Kratos got pierced through and that Atropos's grip was too powerful.

Yes but in game he didn't bleed in the scene where she grabbed him and took him through the mirror back in time to the Ares fight either.

Not to mention that she was flying through the air with him so it wouldn't have been to his advantage to try to break her grip at the moment when he wouldn't know where he would be falling to.

Wonder how Mimir and Freya would react to Kratos' describing the power he needed to amass and the ordeal he went through just to defeat Zeus. Like, they see him take down Thor pretty handily and fight Odin on more or less equal terms, despite him missing all the weapons, magic and growth rate he used to have and needed to kill his father.

Imagine if Kratos did die during Ragnarok, taking down Sutr at the cost of his life. Then he comes to, a glowing spectre in the higher plane of existence.
