Unofficial Powers and Abilities Addition Thread Infinite

Would rather have Enhanced Senses and ESP separated; now, merging Psychometry and Clairvoyance with ESP, is not something I disagree with (although once done that, one can also argue that Precognition is another form of ESP, and thus ending merging it as well).

Precog has variations far beyond simply enhanced senses. Analytical Prediction for instance, or precognition through rewinding time, like Katana Zero or Groundhog Day.

Not a form of enhanced senses, but a form of ESP, at the end, its obtaining information through a mean beyond its main senses. And that last one is not precognition tho.

It's counted as precog on Katana Zero pages.

Well, having precog due time rewind would be the same as having retrocog via time travel to the time and then coming back...

Having ESP and Enanced Senses separate makes a lot of sense to me. Precog is also notable enough to have its own page.
One could maybe just rename and redefine the psychometrie page into a postcognition page.

Yeah I think a Retrocognition page with Psychometry as one of its sub abilities is fine.

We should make it clearer on the ESP and Enhanced Senses pages why both abilities are seperate though. On paper they both just sound like the same thing.

Not really, enhanced sense is tied to the basic 5 senses we have, either having them to a superhuman degree or being able to achieve supernatural stuff with them (like seeing invisible beings) or even have additional sense always tied to your body.

ESP is totally unrelated to the body or any conventional sense, as you can perceive energy, souls, mind waves, magic, people and so on through supernatural means unrelated to common biology.

Shouldn`t power null have different type mentioned. Like severing connection, anti magic,or shutting down powers. There are different types of power null and resisting one does not mean you resist the other

That is valid for many powers with several and different applications, I believe that explaining how a character resists to Power Null is enough.

i mean someone with anti magic won`t affect someone who doesn`t use magic or someone who severs conncetion won`t be able to use it on someone who uses internal power

One could take borrowing as a sub-type of earth manipulation, although I guess one could also not do that.
The definition should include that it has to be digging disproportionately quickly or something, though, otherwise almost everyone would have it.

Borrowing and its many uses, such as books from a library, money from a friend.

Grammar jokes aside, it makes little sense to put it as sub-type of Earth manip, otherwise even flight and acribatics are part of air manip.

But yes, it should be noted that it is done in an extraordinary or at least superhuman way, I gave it for granted but it should be written down.

I have noted that the ability should only be given to those with supernatural ability to dig at high speeds, and simply digging regularly is not enough to have this ability.

I also agree that while an Earth User could theoretically achieve the same thing, not all characters that burrow would have Earth Manipulation, and Saman's point on flight also applies.

If the power is not on wiki or you can't find something that works try to find something alike like DT said Earth Manipulation|Burrowing (Explain what it does or say Via X power/ability and have it explained in the Notable Attacks/Techniques).

We have a few abilities like that. Like Magic or Durability Negation.

Of the page or on the profiles?

On the profiles, I guess one would simply go "Passive Ability1, Ability2, Ability3 and Ability4, Resistance to...." with Passive linked to the page.

The page format itself, would just be your usual P&A format, I guess.

So it might look something like this:
Kratos from god of war 4 would be good example for this abilities.

for the example like this abilities ;

1. Amulet of Kvasir : A last-second doge activates Realm Shift, temporarily slowing down surrounding enemies.
2. Glowing Gem of the Nine : Very low Perk activation chance to temporarily slow nearby enemies on any successful hit.
3. Njörd’s Temporal Stone : Very low Perk activation chance to temporarily slow nearby enemies when damage is taken.

If I'm allowed to say something off topic, but what about "confusion", "terrifying" as ability? I only saw it as something mentioned on status effect inducement, however it can be at least me but it can work pretty much more differently than simple mind hax which applied in SEI.
Like... Empathic manipulation got attention so why not this kind of abilities?

Induce confusion is generally associated to mind or sense manipulation. Terrifying its fear manip (so its also empathic manip).

Generally I meant more about confusion as ability itself because mind manipulation is exactly some kind of control while confusion is not exactly mind control but rather "off mind of opponent" ability, so it feels differently, but I see point.

Mind manip cover any attack that alter the mind or induces mental states, not simply mind control.

should there be an ability that allows for one to consciously give themselves more abilities? As shown with characters like Star Brand?

Sorry for the double post, but that's just Power Bestowal + Whatever new power is added accordingly. Adding a power page just for this is asking for NLFs to appear on pages and overall isn't necessary for indexing.

I think a power along the lines of a "Defense Break" (like this, this or this) would be good to have for the sake of characters who have the specific ability to attack through forcefields. Listing it as an extremely limited version of power nullification or the like seems incredibly arbitrary to me.

Oh, that actually looks fine to do

If you wish, you can write a draft of the power and then post it here for evaluation; unless someone else want to write the draft of the power instead.

How about something like "Subconscious Influencing" for abilities that are currently listed as "Social Influencing " like Weather Report or Kamui (The Silver Case)? Imo it's clearly different enough to warrant a split, nevermind that Resistance to Social Influencing sounds stupid and that'd fix it.
