Demon's Souls Discussion Thread

As the name states, this a general discussion thread for Demon's Souls. I figured since the remake came out a few months ago that the series could use a little extra love on this wiki, even with the remake it's the most niche title in the SoulsBorne anthology and has one of the smallest followings/is one of the most ignored verses on the wiki.
 
Some topics of discussion to start with:

Should Major Demons (2nd Archstone tier, such as The Old Hero, Maneaters, etc.) be scaled to the Giants of the Northern Land, since this blog states that the demons that infested the Northern Land capped out at this level?

The Old One/Bad Ending Slayer of Demons upscaling from The Monumentals (basically, finding out how many Monumentals are/were in The Nexus, thus determining how many were needed to reliably keep The Old One restrained, by extension determining the Old One's AP)

Monumentals TK lifting strength (based on this art of The Nexus) (also means adding TK to Slayer of Demons end-game keys, or at least their Good Ending key)

Changing Good Ending Slayer of Demons to "at least Low 5-B", on account of them becoming the most powerful Monumental

Determining whether the Slayer of Demons' speed improves as they get stronger/whether Supersonic is just the cap outright to the verse's speed.

Eyeballing it based on what we see in-game, it's an ez Class M. Eyeballing it based on the concept art, I could see it being Class G at least if it's skyscraper-sized, though given that The Old One is definitely a type 2 Large Size character, I could see The Nexus being closer to mountain-sized, given it seems to dwarf what is presumably The Old One at the bottom of the picture.
 
Just did a headcount of the Monumentals, there's 16 groups of 4 and 1 group of 8, making for 72 in total. Meaning that it took that many to keep The Old One sufficiently restrained. Now I gotta remember what the AP for destroying half the earth is
 
Plugging in the 72x multiplier, ya get roughly 1.72 yottatons to roughly 2.64 yottatons, Planet level+ either way. Not quite Large Planet level so I don't think Demon's Souls will be throwing down with Bloodborne depending on where in that tier it is, but between AP and hax, The Old One and Slayer of Demons could damn well be serious contenders for a spot in the list of top 10 most powerful 5-Bs on the site (speed equalized ofc lol)
 
Should point out I think the Slayer should be non corporeal in his spirit form. Other people in the form state they lack physical bodies, I had a picture of the quote, but I can refind it again if needed.

Took forever but I found it.

“You… have you seen my corporeal flesh? Has my body gone rotten?”

The crestfallen warrior says this when he is in his spirit form and asking what has happened to his body.
 
There have been a few, but they're all old and necro at this point. Stuff like the thread that upgraded Dark Souls to Tier 4 and such
 
I think we need to address the real elephant in the room

Post-upgrade, factoring in a potential massive lifting strength upgrade and a bump to planet level+, Bad Ending Slayer of Demons could decapitate Saiyan Saga Goku like they're opening a pickle jar

I'm thinking of using the method utilized in the Bloodborne Class 25 calc to calc swings from the Dragon Bone Smasher, Bramd, etc. Should have similar results to the similarly-sized Bloodborne weapons. If I feel like it I might make a calc for Dragon Slayer from Berserk too

Only problem is none of the Bloodborne pages I've read link the ****** calc lol
 
They don’t link the calc because that calc is currently rejected. It was supposed to be removed entirely a long time ago. They currently scale to the lost children throwing rocks vastly larger than people.
 
Btw, the mean of Low 5-B is about 7.15 zettatons, so Monumentals and Good Ending Slayer of Demons qualify for Low 5-B+, gonna apply that

Edit, gonna have to recall what the downscaling is like for the Archdemons (area final bosses, Penetrator, Maiden In Black, etc.), some of them may qualify for Low 5-B+ as well, though I doubt it's all of them.

Btw, are we in agreement to upgrade bad ending Slayer of Demons to 5-B+, and if so are we good to just do that now or should we get scans confirming the number of Monumentals?
 
Aside from Type 8, what other forms of immortality should Slayer have?
I was thinking Type 4 (self-explanatory. They can revive to a corporeal body with a Stone of Ephemeral Eyes or by absorbing the soul of a Major Demon, and they're brought back from death by The Nexus), Type 7 (can exist as just a soul that hasn't moved on to the afterlife or been vored by a Demon ), and maybe Type 5 (due to The Nexus binding them to the physical world, they are unbound by normal life and death)
 
And another thing, Saint Urbain can "purify" Demon's souls, usually creating miracles with a contrary effect (such as creating Second Chance from Old Hero's Soul and Banish from Old Monk's Soul), obviously Soul Manipulation, but what other power(s) would this count as? Power Bestowal, since Saint Urbain is granting the transformed soul to Slayer as a new spell? Purification? Corruption? Power Modification?
 
This has really got me thinking, there's a ton of powers stemming from the soul/reality-twisting shenanigans in Demon's Souls by The Old One and others. For example, Corruption, Biological Manipulation (as seen by Oolan and her Hoplites getting turned into a blob monsters), some sort of Resurrection/Life Manipulation (as seen by the Deep Fog breathing life into Dragon God's bones), hell, maybe even DMCV-style Type 3 Concept Manipulation if the Black Phantoms at the start of 1-4 representing Oolan, Alfred, and Metas (Phalanx, Tower Knight, Penetrator, respectively) are anything to go by. Not to mention, there's also Creation, since King Allant made Old King Allant from scratch, and since demons like Vanguard aren't known to be made from any pre-existing person or creature.
 
Btw, here's a sample of the tiering I have for the verse:
God Tier: The Old One
Top Tier: Monumentals
High Tier: Archdemons (from the most powerful ones like Maiden In Black to comparative scrubs like Maiden Astraea)
Mid Tier: Giants of the Northern Land, 2nd level Archstone Demons like Tower Knight
Low Tier: 1st level Archstone Demons like Armor Spider
Scrub Tier: Phalanx, Vanguard
Fodder Tier: Dreglings and other basic enemies (still like 9-B to 9-A so)

For concept manip, I was thinking it may qualify as it would be separating the human aspect of soul from that of a Demon's. Albeit I understand that that may not be enough to go on, and even if cleared would likely be only a limited version of CM

That's more like deconstruction and soul manipulation. (it also happens to be very powerful Deconstruction).
 
Gonna follow this since I love Demon's Souls. A long time ago I started to watch and gather feats from the remake, but never went around finishing it. I'll do that as soon as possible.
