Surprised despite having upgrades and calcs for the verse, that nobody has made a discussion thread dedicated to the series somehow. Glad nobody did, because I get to be the one to start an official discussion thread dedicated to my most favorite light gun game franchise of all time, whether in the arcades or beyond and that's:

House of the Dead series.

Like @Tonygameman, I am a somewhat huge addict of light gun rail shooter-themed arcade games, especially from Japanese developers like Sega, Namco Bandai, Konami, and possibly Taito. I think light gun rail shooter games and most other arcade game series (outside of fighting games, racing games, and maybe beat em up games from the classic era especially) are extremely underrated and underappreciated, even moreso in powerscaling and battleboarding like a number of other certain things I love and have some extensive attachment and obsession with. But most of all as far as light gun game series go, no one does them better than Sega and what better game to represent Sega in that genre than this series.

Discuss ladies and germs.

It'd be interesting to see what feats we can gather from the lore of the House of the Dead series.

In Scarlet Dawn, the main antagonist Thornheart (spoiler:
aka "the Mystery Man" from HotD 3 and 4
) was gonna unleash some kind of a virus that will spread and affect the whole world with Project Noah's Ark or something according to a cutscene before their first boss fight against the Chariot.

And the final boss, The Moon can absorb other creatures to grow bigger and stronger and he destroyed the Scarecrow Manor with his size and strength and in the cutscene, Ryan and Kate's guns are clearly shown to do absolutely zero damage to him. The same type of guns that are able to kill hordes of Wall-level zombies in the previous House of the Dead games (assuming they all scale).

And it took a quick-time event of Ryan taking an iron rod and sticking it into its head for a lightning strike to kill it thanks to his late brother James intervening as a ghost from behind the scenes, Goku powering up Gohan against Perfect Cell style to finally somehow put it down for good.

Might as well as be some shit akin to divine intervention
