Current Standings (A "-1" indicates a fighter was disqualified for whatever reasons)

Twenty-fifth round of the 7-A brackets begins! Winner of the last round was False Berserker. The semifinals are only four rounds away!

The contenders for this round are Gildedguy, submitted by WeeklyBattles, and Vilgax, submitted by Apies.

7-A Gildedguy and Alien Force Vilgax w/Chronosapian Time Bomb restricted is used. Speed is equalized, battle takes place in this kickass arena.

Vilgax can break through diamonds undamaged by a 352 Megato attack, Gildedguy can harm a dude who was undamaged by a 312 Megato attack.

Vilgax scales to a slightly higher feat, has better ranged attacks, can fly, disperse attacks with his sword, outranges Gildedguy to a significant degree, and can generate ice/electricity.

Gildedguy nopes fire/explosions, has an arguably better defense system (In all fairness Vilgax can keep on deploying his own forcefields and it can be omnidirectional too), and amps himself as the fight goes on. I'd argue Gildedguy is the more skilled swordsman of the two, although Vilgax has more experience against fighters with various superpowers via fighting a crapton of Ben's transformations.

This is very close imo.
 
On an unrelated note, I plan on rendering Gildedguy and other RHG characters as a reward for getting this far into the brackets.
 
For Vilgax:

Forcefields are a major boon though what he spams in character is beyond me. We've established flight is not a counter to Gildedguy previously. The only other notable ability is covering his sword in "reflective ice crystals". Not sure how good they are.

Regarding Gildedguy. He negs Vilgax's potential abuse of fire. Using his sword extension he can feasibly surprise Vilgax. Regenerating armor and stat amping as the fight carries on means he's going to gain an AP advantage eventually- and his armor probably counters VIlgax's own shields.

In the end I lean slightly towards Gildedguy if only for use of unconventional weaponry and negating one of VIlgax's potential attack methods.
 
Rendering?

Also, I'm leaning towards Gildedmesh. His adaptation will slowly, but surely, tip the fight into his favor. Since it's already so close, even the tiniest edge up can decide everything.
 
Wouldn't the match being very close benefit Gildedguy due to his reactive power level?
 
If both were unharmed by an attack relative to the other's AP, and neither have a way to bypass durability, then it is gonna be 2 of them swinging at eachother like the Ginosaji for a good long while. I guess I'll go with Vilgax due to having force fields that stop him from being reduced to mush at a slightly lower rate.

By the way, I'm thinking I'll write a flavorful fight for the very last match of the brackets. Would that be cool?

Gilded gets stronger the longer he's in a fight, especially if he's losing, and has regenerating armor. If it comes into a slow match of turning the other to mush, Gilded takes it.

I'll vote Vilgax for Iapitus reasons. Really close call though, if this wasn't tournament I might say Inconclusive.

Rendering refers to removing the background of a character's image and making it a transparent image. Makes for a cleaner image overall and generally takes about ten minutes to do for an average image, longer if it is complicated/harsh background.
