Zoro should get Advanced haki for both his pre-timeskip profiles and post-timeskip profile since the Breathe of all things is the same thing as advanced armament haki.

Zoro's Armament Haki

Even if Zoro had an inkling on how Haki worked Pre-Timeskip (without really knowing what it is), I don't think that counts as having Advanced application of Armament Haki if he could only use one specific technique and didn't even know how to use the basics.
