Apparently seeing a little bit into the future doesn’t count as advanced Obs haki do to this

So let’s fix that


Regular Obs haki cannot see or sense the future, period.


It can allow the user to sense the aura/intent of there opponent and act accordingly

It doesn’t matter how little you can see into the future, if you can see into the future then you’ve got advanced Obs haki. So I propose to remove this

If you think that all basic Kenbun gives is sensing intent and sensing auras then I think there's an underlying issue in your understanding of what Kenbun is.

Basically this. Lower Tier Kenbunshoku Haki is best described as pseudo Future Sight, it's not consistent and it's not for very long but they can still peer into the immediate future.

This is irrelevant to the current thread, this is specifically about basic Obs haki having any future sight capabilities. Not ace having future sight

In fact, I believe the OP is confusing the terms, Future Sight refers to "seeing a little bit into the future" and is associated with the most advanced level of Kenbunshoku Haki, allowing the user to see a bit (which is understood to be a few seconds) in the future. Ace hasn't seen a bit into the future (he had a mere glimpse of he being hit) so he doesn't have Future Sight in the same way that the term is used to classify advanced users of Obs Haki.

I haven’t proposed a certain way the use it, the point of this thread is to completely remove the notion that regular Obs Haki users can see glimpses into the future

Rather than future sight, isn't it easier to explain what Luffy and Satori did as the sum of other Kenbu abilities to know what the opponent will do?

Satori knew Luffy would stretch via mind/intent reading, for example.

Like, actually "sensing the near future" and seeing "an image of the future" is just future sight, which we know they can't do, they have no actual access to the future.

They just have a lot of information from their opponent and act/predict based on it, which is not related to the future in any way so we can't index it as premonition, limited or not IMO
