Xianxia/Xuanhuan General Discussion: Junior, you dare?!

Someone in Transformation Realm can kill an Anti-Pure Realm cultivator with a sentence. Like tell a guy to kneel and they will kneel and tell them to kowtow to death and they will do it. It's like mind control.

This is because the gap between major realms is obviously massive like the difference between a cultivator and a mortal (heck even wider than that).

In the qi stage, cultivators use martial arts and their qi usually has no unique attributes. But in the transformation stage, cultivators can use spells which is what makes them way way stronger.

Also an interesting thing was that people in the first stage: Qi Cultivation Realm gets a strength and agility boost from materializing qi in their bodies but the MC mentions that even an old grandma can knock them out with a slap.

They basically don't get a durability boost until they reach Body Quenching Stage.

At Meridian Opening, they can store more qi in their meridians and dantian.

At Sky Splitting, they can extend their attacks through the sky (almost like Yonko splitting the sky in One Piece). Basically long range attacks like shooting our sword ki and shit.

At Innate Realm, they get a Xiantian body protection film which is basically like an extra energy defence.

Anti-Pure Realm doesn't seem to have any unique skills.

But once someone reaches Transformation Stage, they can fly freely like Superman while all previous stages require flying swords and flying devices to stay airborne.

I finally gave in and started reading the Return of the Mount Hua Sect. Not really CN-written but it's still a Muhyeop novel so technically also a Wuxia lol.

The verse isn't particularly powerful, but I can see why the novel is popular and why the manhwa adaptation was good. It's not the most appealing novel to index in the wiki however due to not being as flashy as other powerscaling-brainrot cultivation novels.

The MC is pretty funny and charismatic plus powerful as well so the novel is well received. Though, I can't remember the powerscaling that well apart from the disciples having 3 levels.

Indeed, Anti-Pure Realm has the smallest buff in terms of uniqueness:

"The biggest advantage of the anti-pure state lies in the consumption of energy by moves, the recovery speed of energy, and the control of energy.

In terms of combat effectiveness, in fact, the monks at the first level of the anti-pure state are not much stronger than those at the tenth level of the innate state."

It has pretty funny scenes like this:

Tang Zhan pulled out the weapons inside his sleeve. At the same time, all the throwing knives flew for Jo Gul with the speed of light.

If I really wanted to, I can wank the shit out of this verse and make everyone MFTL++++++++++.

Data Cultivation System

Transformation into God Stage (This is the 2nd major realm of cultivation)
1. Supernatural Power Realm (Divine Ability Realm)
2. Imperial Law Realm (Dharma Control Realm)
3. True Yuan Realm (True Essence Realm)
4. Juyuan Realm
5. Void Core Realm
6. Golden Core Realm

In the same way, there are also six small realms headed in the Void Returning Stage:
1. Nascent Soul Realm

Don't know the rest.
After the 6th level of Void stage, one can go through Immortal Tribulation and become an Immortal which is the fourth and final major realm.

Anyway, I've read 440 chapters of this novel and I think that is it for me. It's already become a drag to sloth through the chapters after chapter 400. But the novel has around 800 chapters in total so it isn't that long.

Anyway for the first 400 chapters, it was a good run with some interesting ideas here and there.

MC was not bad though he didn't pull my attention that much. Usually I can keep trudging through a novel as long as I like the MC well enough.

Xianxia MCs get cheats and systems where they can just grind points and power-up by hunting down monsters yet they decide to waste their time fighting random young masters and engaging in human political bullshit.

Like just go to the forest and live there hunting down monsters and become OP in peace.

Like you live in a supernatural world where demons and ghosts are rampant and humans can only live in a small corner of the world yet you decide to waste your time on nonsense human affairs and pointless harems that won't even matter in 10 chapters.

It's like almost impossible to find a smart MC even when the world building is great and the power system is interesting. Everything gets thrown into the ash once the MC refuses to use his brain right.

Lmao, MC went out to sea the first time after killing some young masters and being wanted in the whole country and now he was captured by some creature and turned into a mining slave.

Hahaha, and this is despite having a system where all he needs to do is kill ghosts and demonic beasts, accumulate points then level up. If he just did that for 2 years straight he would be outright the most powerful in his country.

But Noooo, he chooses to stay in the city and beef with random young masters meanwhile his martial arts stagnates.

He has countless old men targeting him yet he doesn't feel the need to increase his strength.

Worse, he lets down the people who put their faith in him or follow him and cooperate with him since he has to keep running away.

Read something actually good like lord of mysteries, deep sea embers and sword of dawnbreaker.

I've been reading online novels for over 5 years now. I've pretty much already read everything that's translated into English.

That's why most of the novels I talk about here are usually MTL or from sites like Novelhi and Comrademao.

I've read 3 new novels recently. Maybe I'll do a write up on them later.

1. Data Cultivation System (It's okay but nothing too special)

2. If You Keep Blowing it Up, I'll Truly be Invincible (another okay novel. MC gets stronger based on the rumors people spread about him.)

3. Immortal Cultivation - I can save the Costs (This is PEEEEEAK! Read this!)

The third novel is very similar to another of my all time favorite CNs, The Ultimate Demon.

First, the novel is set in a horror-like setting where everything in the cultivation system is twisted. For instance, cultivating an eye art might need you to go blind and eat eyes!

There's a lot of horror elements and every technique alters the body to look more horrific which is called Body alienation. So most of the characters hàve inhuman appearances.

There's a lot of hax in this novel but the best parts are the mysteries and horror. It's also pretty similar to other horror xianxia/xuanhuan like Panic for 1000 years where there's a lot of strange things in the world and cultivating or becoming stronger doesn't protect you from the weirdness. In fact the stronger you get the more you come into contact with even stranger unexplainable things.

If you love xianxia/xuanhuan with horror elements, read this one.

The trailer for lord of mysteries is out

It actually looks good. This should be one of the first lovecraftian anime adaptations, right? And I mean lovecraftian rather than just harem romance anime borrowing names.

Yeah lotm is heavily Lovecraft and scp inspired especially the early parts.

The trailer looks hopeful, but a reminder that it doesn't reflect the official product.

At the very least it isn't an epic 3D animation fail like SOD.

Any shadow slave fan here? It's not a xianxia but it's on webnovel so I thought their might be some here.

I know people who read it. Haven't read it myself.

Last I heard, the author criticized Lord of the Mysteries and so the Shadow Slave fandom involved itself in another shitstorm again.

This month ends God Emperor, and even before the end I have to say this is in my top tier novels, probably the first. Character development, depth, world building and on top of that the best Plots I've ever seen in cultivation novels

A question for people's preference.

I've been very, very slowly making revisions for LOTM (that probably won't be finished until COI itself is finished, though tbf I would also be making COI profiles by that time).
And basically, Klein's profile will likely end up really massive and a pain in the ass to look at due to the walls of text in it.
So I've constructed 2 versions of how his profile is gonna be formatted.

This version is how most profiles would look like. All statistics are placed together, separated by "|" in between.
This version is different: every statistic starting from Attack Potency until Notable Attacks and Techniques are separated by Sequence through Tabbers. For example, you will only see Seer Klein's statistics in the first tabber, and the next one will have only his Clown statistics, and so on.

I stole this idea from Kobster's Kafka Hibino profile and I kinda like it. I might also do the same for Adam's profile unless I decide to just create separate profiles for ASG, Adam and the True Creator.

The second one is better and makes it much easier to parse for readers.
However, I will say for the classification and names, don't do it like that; instead, choose a select few and add them to the list rather than putting them in tabbers. It in no way looks good with tabbers. And for those you wish to separate by key, use "|" instead.

Sword God in a World of Magic is cool. It's basically a xuanhuan (has cultivation and a magical setting) but it's in english. Also has some cracked hax.

However, I will say for the classification and names, don't do it like that;
Yeah, I expected some people may not like them.

The thing is, as everyone familiar with the verse knows, Klein Moretti uses multiple identities (primarily 5 of them) and each of these identities are very distinct, having their own titles and jobs/classifications. Heck, even these fake identities have more fake identities. Even if I trim it down by removing the one-off identities and the repetitive-sounding names, there's still gonna be a heck lot of them that are too important to remove IMO.
The tabbers may look ugly but you are less likely to get confused as of which identity corresponds to which classification, opposed to using the normal format.

I will try and see how it looks like if I just divide them by ||| instead. But separating by Key doesn't really work, lots of these identities are used simultaneously whereas the Keys are about the specific Sequence Job the character has.

New novel on my reading list: Cultivation Starts From Simplifying the Exercises

Nothing haxy or OP yet but still cool.

MC can cross 10,000 miles in 6 hours so basically Mach 2. Not in the least bit impressive in the grand scheme of things but it was still cool to me cause he was running at that speed consistently for basically 16 kilometers without stopping and it kinda felt way rawer than the basically incalculable god tier feats we see all the time.

I'm reading the florida man novel. For now seems mhs+ and no idea about dc yet. Also thinking to start outside of time now that it's picked up by wuxia world. Any idea if it's worth it? It will give a powerful mc for sure.

It has been a couple of months since the last time I came here. Do we have any new profiles/edits?

Li qiye's profile has been redone if I'm not mistaken, and just a few additions to dragon talisman other than that

Is it still ongoing? Haven't read it in like 5 years
