What is a verse you don't like, but the majority of people do like?

Ok, I have more time now, let's dig deeper.

1. Boku no Hero Academia: In bold because I can't believe I ended up disliking this show. It has a good premise and a good prota, it went to hell in like... idk, but way too soon for a series of its genre. This whole "let's be overly cliché but never play any of those cliché straight" mentality annoys me to no end. Hell, the very fact All Might is still alive is simply stupid, and it would have been way better if the stuck to the "mentor dies" cliché.

2. Shingeki no Kyojin: Exactly what's the appeal here? A crybaby prota that does squad for God knows how many episodes, the constant "kill as many characters as you can so no one can have a happy life" vibe, the horrible plot, the unnecesary amounts of gore... this series just makes me sick.

3. Star Wars: What the hell do the people from the US see on this trash? It's literaly just your typical sci-fi stuff, I see no reason for all the hype it gets.

4. Current Marvel: Do I need to explain why I said current? Because if I do, you need to re-read some of its old stuff.

To some degree I'll also say One Piece, but I think that's mainly because I found it as a pretty meh series, yet all rankings put as the best manga ever made or something.

I just can't take isekai seriously after hearing shit titles like "I, a Demon Lord, Took a Slave Elf as My Wife, but How Do I Love Her?"
I think that was not an isekai. The title does not make the work better or worse, in addition that title is not only common in Isekais, it is usually seen in light novels or web novels.

Star Wars is a massively iconic franchise so obviously a lot of Americans are going to hold it fondly. Yeah the Prequels suck but I think Star Wars has fantastic World Building and awesome moments. Also typical sci fi stuff? Star Wars straight up pioneered that shit.

SW defined the sci-fi tropes though. That's like calling Dragon Ball a generic shounen when it's the granddaddy shounen.
That's like calling Seinfield unfunny because it codified what a sit-com is.

MHA. I have tried like 3 times to finish the first damn episode of the anime.

Hmm, for people complaining about him, Ichigo from Bleach has never been that bland to me and I really like his character design so....yeah.

Fairy Tail. Don't like the nakama power bs, Ezra grinds my gears as a character and I swear she embodies the: get bodied => scream about friends => win.

Yeah of all the shit I give Bleach, I will say that Ichigo breaks the stereotype by not being an idiot and is relatively pragmatic. Kudos to him.

I think the majority of people think Fairy tail is bad so don't think it should even be mentioned. Ppl are always trashing it, for good reason imo.

That's like calling the origional Super Mario Bros boring because it was basically the first platformer.

Fairy Tail is that kind of series that doesn't have a good plot or characters, but it's extremely entertaining to watch.

Did you read it? Despite the title sounding like something borderline-h or even actually hentai, it is NOT. Instead, it's actually very wholesome and feels even a bit... "shoujo-ish", to be honest.

Of course that's just an exception. There are other titles where it's exactly as it sounds.

Isn't it always the non-ecchi sounding novels that turn out to be H content. I mean look at High school DxD, not a good example? What about Hybrid x Heart, sound like a romantic series but this went above and beyond DxD, not sure if it's actually being sold next to it or at adult stores or even at underground stores.

That reminds me Masou Gakuen ended. I wonder if I could make pages for that verse, they have 2-C feats and everything.

Forgot to add Overlord to my list. I never liked this series very much because you exactly know the main characters aren't going to lose, their reasons for what they do are... quite common and childish and I never really felt it, it was very predictable in my opinion

Hmm, tbh I don't read overlord for the fights. I find the world and the MC's reaction to it is more of my reason for reading it.

I'm gonna make a slightly modified answer to this question, and say a part of a verse I dislike despite many supporters of the verse liking it.

I'm a big fan of the Nasuverse, with Fate and KnK in particular being my favorites. However, I dislike fate extra. I may like what it reveals about the lore, but I don't like the scifi setting in a fantasy based verse. Mana and magecraft? Cool. Hacking the moon cell? ******* boring. With that being said, I do like many of the characters like Nero, Li, and Tamamo, but the whole concept and setting of the moon cell is boring and honestly a pointless addition to the nasuverse. The sakura five are ******* cursed and took me way too long to get used to, although I do like Kazuradrop and Violet ain't that bad. Everytime I look at Passionlip, Meltlilith, and Kingprotea, it makes me heavily uncomfortable due to how fetishized they all are. I have a love hate relationship with BB. I think one of the reasons I ain't much of a fan is that I ain't a fan of Sakura to begin with, and this part of the verse revolves around her heavily. Fate Extra is also one of the worst in the nasuverse when it comes to internal consistency, and it gives me a migraine. I also come to fate for the cool power systems with tons of hard counters, creative powers and cool interactions of said powers. Fate Extra basically tosses this aside, when everyone and their mom has authority. It's basically an admission of Nasu's failure to balance his own power system. Instead of making a cool and broken power, when he wants to make someone powerful he just gives them high ranking authority and gives up. It's just the Nasu equivalent of Dragon Ball's "more power means your hax don't work" and I hate it. Sure its powerful in a verses setting, but its ******* boring. Fate Extra is also the part of the verse that seems the most up it's own ass, and not in a way that is deep or interesting. I wish I didn't have to come to Fate Extra for a bunch of supporting lore for the other more interesting parts of the verse.

How about Super Sentai?

Btw from mine, the verse i don't like that majority like are not too much surprisingly, i can say it would be Fairy Tail, Berserk, and Isekai series

Fairy Tail: Nothing too much to say since everyone who mentioning it already sum it up

Berserk: Somehow i didn't hooked too much on this series despite my likeness on really dark tone, also toxic fanbase (not here but outside)

Isekai series: This become so tiresome to see too much Isekai with garbage plot and series, at least there is an exception like Re: Zero, Konosuba, TSSDK (yes even this, i know the debate on it can be annoying af but beside that everything are good), and the newest isekai series isekai mom

I haven't finished the novel, but a while ago I created this.

Yeah, I think I'm the only one who knew that page existed. It caught me by surprise. We should join a make a verse page :v

None.

Or at least, none I remember at the moment.

Maybe Fairy Tail? That's the best example I can think off, but is more general lack of care than dislike.

Nasuverse, marvel, jojo and while I wont say I don't like it, I have some problems with Overlord and don't think it's as magnificent as people paint it as (I think the same with TSSDK as well). I saw the discussion above and would like to say that, imo, Ainz is more of a "mary sue" than Rimuru is, I enjoy the story for it's worldbuilding but whenever Ainz literally just BS' his way into success or just happens to be in a certain place in such a time that he advances his own goals without even trying (Such as completely destroying Jircniv's plans and placing him even more firmly under his thumb just by choosing to fight some gladiator without even having awareness Jircniv was there), it feels as if the story is just bending itself to support Ainz and his conquest without him even intending to achieve it, which frustrates me whenever I read the story as I don't like Ainz or Nazarick succeeding because of luck manipulating plot armor.

Kumo Desu ga Nani ka... The long adventures (grind) in a labyrinth made me bored, and the straightforward plot introduced after she left the labyrinth couldn't satisfy me, not to mention the ridiculous 20+ abilities of characters occasionally described within the novel that plague the chapters.

RWBY have, in my opinion, mediocre writing overall. I was bored by vol 1 and 2, had a glimpse of interest in the show during vol 3 (probably RWBY's peak performance), but quickly lost any hope of liking it in vol 4 and 5, with vol 5 terrible finale being the nail in the coffin. Vol 6 didn't get any better.

It's far from being the worst thing ever, it's even enjoyable at times and have good character design, but i feel it's pretty popular and not as controversial as a show like SAO or the Isekai genre in general. Or Fairy tail because a lot of people actually hate this manga.

Fairy Tail, Tales Series (Absolutely loved Berseria but couldn't get into the rest), Final Fantasy, Attack on Titan, Digimon, Yugioh, Dragon Age, Dragon Quest for now.

Berseria has such a different tone compared to the others it's easy to see why people enjoy it well over the others

Also Velvet is bae.
