Mask's toon force isn't good enough to just ignore Kira's bomb transmutation AFAIK, so he just does that.

Kira touches Mask with Killer Queen, an invisible ghost The Mask can't see or damage, and then causes him to combust, which kills or at least damage even his soul. There's nothing for Mask to regenerate from. Toon Force isn't saving The Mask from that. Heck, he might even destroy the mask itself since Kira usually goes for the face when transmutating someone into a bomb.
