Did you watch/read Asterisk? Because I recommend you to do so if you seriously call it "one of the most interesting shows of the year".
 
Eh, I agree there. Asterisk is a pretty meh series but tolarable enough to not say it's actually bad, but airing at the same time as Rakudai really screwed it.
