From what I understand it only works on cursed spirits and not humans. So unless Salem’s human side can prevent it from working on her, if she’s more Grimm, or if Grimm and cursed spirits are fundamentally different it wouldn’t work unless Mahoraga can adapt somehow.

Salem is a human cursed by the gods and corrupted by the Brothers Grimm
 
Bump. Thinking about the possible outcomes for the match.

A lot of Sukuna’s go to moves like his malevolent shrine and his flames aren’t too effective against Salem cause while they can do damage, she could regenerate from them no problem.

Salem’s got her immortality going for her and the fact that she can potentially one shot if she builds up enough magic for an attack. But she’s not as capable or skillful as Sukuna who’s a genius in his own right.

Honestly I see Sukuna’s real only options of taking her down is for somehow Mahoraga to adapt to Salem in a way that can nullify her regeneration.

Nah it was implied Mahoraga has been adapting to all of Gojo’s moved while Sukuna’s been fighting him in the shadows last chapter. He didn’t just insta adapt to unlimited void.
 
The fight with Yorozu + currently with Gojo implies that the user of the Wheel can share adaptations with Mahoraga, so not quite instant, but it's still impressive. Adapting to targetted cutting, then infinite pressure, then infinite information

Type 8 immortality is rough for Sukuna. He starts off with cutting which is useless. Fire is useless. Mahoraga could be a problem if he instantly summons him or the wheel (rest of TS is irrelevant here) and she can't one shot him with hax, but even then saying he could adapt to bypass that immortality seems NLF, unfortunately
 
I also like to believe that Mahoraga adapted to being able to kill immortal beings already.

Like curses themselves are immortal right. And Mahoraga is able to erase them from existence so he might be able to adapt to do a similar thing in regards to Salem’s immortality.

Not type 8 though unless I'm missing something
 
what's stopping Salem from just eviscerating Sukuna with literally anything?

Anything she does against Mahoraga will just kill it and prevent him from regenerating, and she can kill Sukuna with the same level of ease

sure sukuna has soul cutting slashes, but he has no reason to use them off the bat without prior knowledge. Salem can just 1 shot with anything in character
