The rune is stated to be etched in his mind, stop ignoring such a crucial detail to further your flawed argument

Rituals in fiction are often preformed by memory, and have a need for physical movement. I don't see why, if it just begins with his mind, it is wrong to say that it finishes with a ritual when that's supported by how it functions when used.

I'm not ignoring any detail. I'm pointing out the lack of detail in the description, and how the gameplay fills that rather large gap.

And I suppose we'll keep on debating then. Just tell me when you'd like to take a break and wait for more input.

Because it's not a ritual
You're arguing semantics now. Spell, Ritual, it starts with a thought, and it isn't unfounded to say that the gameplay supports that it needs movement.

Lore takes priority over Gameplay in souls borne and lore says it's just a thought and doesn't imply movement

Lore takes priority over Gameplay, yes.

It doesn't say it is only a thought, it says "by focusing one's thoughts", as in it starts with them thinking about the rune. It leaves details out, and is vague, so the gameplay fills in gaps of information. It doesn't need to imply movement, as it doesn't cover the entire ritual.

Lore and Gamplay can coexist if they don't contradict eachother. There is no contradiction here, just two halves of a whole.
