Depends. If deathwing thinks he could be a problem, then yes as we see in the war of the ancient novel.

If deathwing doesnt take him serious he would rather use other spells / only meele to toy with Grim as we saw vs Gruul.

The thing with deathwing is as he is borderline immortal with his armor, as it cant be destroyed at all.
