Just saw episode 1.
Gonna be watching it at a slow pace, no spoilers, please. (Although I'll only be checking this thread every so often, similar to how slowly I check this thread.)

Homelander getting gray hairs & other signs of age is surprising. Guess no longevity for this Superman knock off? Maybe he even ages faster?
Ryan still doing nothing except be conflicted about his family & loyalty to Homelander is frustrating. Maybe if Homelander had the sense to try raising him like Clark Kent; Learn how to use powers in good ways -Help out around the yard, etc.- he might ease up? IDK.
The Boys having to retreat because of Zoey is surprising. I guess when you're a covert group, an unexpected element, even one like that, means regrouping?
What exactly is Homelander & Sister Sage's plan? Like, split apart the citizens to cause trouble while Homelander plays fake hero? Isn't that the same thing he's been doing for several seaons which has been tanking his reputation?
I'm not sure if I feel like Sister Sage is that smart, which, considering it's her whole claim to fame....
It annoys me that Icky Vicky Headpopper is seemingly invulnerable to bullets & acid. Between her being an annoying, evil politician & having a cheap power, is she designed to make audiences want to hate her?
Why did Homelander introduce Sister Sage to the rest of The Seven if all she's done so far is be present for & help instigate a violent riot? (I don't remember her exact role.) Surprised she was able to stay safe despite that.
Surprising that Starlight can APPARENTLY only like, use her powers AND fly at the same time for like, 33 seconds. Why is that? Is she just that inexperienced?
Who was Frenchie kissing around the riot scene, & why?
I wonder if their whole scheme will fail by something like, A Train delivering bodies being on camera footage.
As for Billy Bitcher & his belligerent band of bullet-blasting bang bang blockheads, I don't really care much for them. To me, they feel like a bunch of regular people who'd fit into a mundane action series; I'm more interested in the Superhero stuff, not people that feel like something you'd see in, IDK, James Bond or Fast & the Furious or some other mindless violence with guns series. Nominal protagonists or not.
What does everyone else think of it so far?

I have watched all the episodes so far, and the latest episode in particular is unbelievably good, the best of the season in my opinion.
In terms of scale, the latest episode showed that Homelander is practically invulnerable (although he feels pain, his skin is not affected) to a super high temperature capable of tearing a human apart in seconds.

Yeah, so far I wouldn't say any upgrades are coming from this season. But I'm still waiting since I wanted to update the profiles and well, is easier to just update with S4 stuff altogether too lol

I would have to say this season has been the worst so far, though episode 1 and 4 were good. I still enjoy watching however there are so many branching side plots that are just uninteresting, unimportant, or feel forced. Also a main complaint that I've had with the past three seasons has only gotten worse; that is it's tendency to throw shade at a certain side of the political spectrum. Before you could argue that it made fun of both sides of the spectrum but it has gotten progressively worse with each passing season to the point that now the entire plot of this season revolves around a political war between the two parties, of which only one side is depicted as the evil one. The comedy is still good and Homelander and Butcher's storylines are still great and interesting and I am still overall enjoying this show. But the clear bias and lack of coherent and interesting side plots, plot induced stupidity, and out of character moments is really bringing this one down for me.

Idk I just feel like everything feels so disjointed, characters are doing basically side quests because the main plot can't move forward yet which is a flaw present in all seasons after season 1. Honestly they should have made The Boys kill more Supes like in the comics or something because almost all side plots are just padding for run time. Hell, I don't know poke fun at the fact The Boys are working for the deep state despite their good intentions or something

- Firecracker downscales from Starlight since she was completely helpless against her on episode 4.
- According to past trailers The Deep will fight Starlight in a future episode so he'll probably get an upgrade.
- Ryan should have an upgrade, he clearly has superhuman strength as well, I'd put him on 8-B personally but he should be 9-B at the very least.
- We need another key for the new Black Noir.

1. She hold her own against Kimiko and Annie was mad angry, but yeah, Firecracker should be listed as "At most" or "Likely" from Annie's tier
3. Oh yeah, absolutely. As I said in my previous comment, any upgrades and changes would be posted in a CRT after Season 4 ends. But I do agree that he should at least be 9-B is nothing else.
4. Still featless for the most part, but yeah! Though he should be a different characters, not a key. He is not the same Noir.
As for point 2:
Some leaks that were fairly accurate so far stated that Annir will start having problems with her powers, explaining how Deep would be shown as a threat to her.
Otherwise, it would be a little bit non-sensical in terms of power-scaling imo, but if we have to, we will adapt.

100% agree. While I had liked the Homelander and Butcher stuff, and I actually enjoy Sage and Firecracker, there's no feeling of a plot.
Heck, most of what we expected from S3's ending kinda happened in the first episode, with the boys going for Victoria and Butcher talking about the virus.

Idk if Homelander's setup is a Trump thing, so much as a general "return to tradition, everyone else is out to get us, I am strong man, love me, I am literally America" thing that applies to both.

Man Homelander is really carrying this, his interactions with Ryan this episode were pretty good. Seems like we are on the path for the comic Supes vs Military showdown with all the other Supes ready to "answer the call"
Other than that, this episode just felt like another sidequest and the only things that brought the plot forward were Edgar reuniting with Neuman and Butcher capturing Sameer.
Hughie's father on V was well done but they didn't need to waste like 4 episodes of buildup on this and he died this very same episode... And I honestly don't give a shit about Hughie's mom
Makes me wonder what the hell is the endgame for this season, is this just setup for season 5?

So for Annie’s whole “projectile dysfunction” thing, do we assume that would affect her physicals or just the effectiveness of her powers? Because if the latter then Vicky could maybe scale to her from that sucker punch.

Also I just wanna say that the stuff with Hughie’s family was really well done this episode. Despite not really caring about that subplot beforehand, Hugh Sr.’s death still managed to mess me up.

Maybe? He is not really fighter and had powers for like, minutes or hours lol. But I guess technically he should have one.
Depends, because if the trailer is accurate, she kinda is backed in a fight versus f*cking Deep, so either she gets progressively weaker, or Victoria is weaker than she looks.
My guest is the former. Specially since Victoria is such a threat. It makes sense she should be as durable as Annie and co.

Do you guys think that at this point Kimiko should get Immortality (Type 3) on her profile?
She has already came back like 3 times from headshots, an snapped neck, and from literally getting so messed up her organs spilled.
Also, I thought she should get Bodily Weaponry too, because she has several scenes were she slashes with her nails, and caused very deep and nasty injuries (too lazy too add the links now)

Just saw episode 3. Have already seen episode 2, but it didn't feel very notable. Or at least, the big feat from it had already been gone over.
This episode, I've been wondering: Doesn't Homelander have super-hearing? It seemed to be lacking.
Especially when he didn't notice Firecracker speaking to him because of his focus on Starlight's speech.
Can he not hear A-Train moving?
How was he so awful at noticing Huey fumbling through the ducts, let alone aiming at him? Yet he identified Huey by sweat smell -& didn't even dismiss it as dripping water at the outskirts of the ice rink- & later smelled Billy's body odor on Ryan?
To say nothing of how lacking Homelander is in theory of mind.
The show also seems fiercely set on villainizing anyone who supports Homelander, despite that IRL, not all such ultra-patriots & such are bad people.
Neat that Homelander can make the ducts metal glow orange with his heat vision.
Also, surprising that a light in his eyes can throw off his vision when he's already doing heat vision; Does he not see the light from his own heat vision?
Oh & also, how do Homelander's beams still leave folks bleeding? Shouldn't such temperatures cauterize the wounds they create?
Also, I'm wondering about some of their budget choices. Like, video games are cool I guess -Although surprising an in-universe global brand would be so absurdly gory-, & hallucinated body horror & bath toys?
Homelander seeking to abandon his humanity is sort of a neat parallel to Superman, who seeks to find & embrace his as Clark Kent, no?
Sadly, I doubt it will go so well. I doubt it will have a positive impact on him, even if it does deprive him of his "need for love".
To be honest, I kind of wish we got some kind of AU where Homelander could go through a redemption arc. He's an awful person, & I wish he could learn to be better. But perhaps I've said that too much, already, no?
Also, 1 of the higher-pitched male singers from the on-ice thing sounded really familiar. Anyone know who it was?

Super-hearing isn't the same as good focus.
Homelander literally dated a 1940s-era Nazi and vaped a guy in public, anyone supporting him is a lunatic psychophant.
That actually stood out to me as well, but I guess there are subcorporations under Vought with different reputations.

I assume you mean that he heard it, but couldn't/didn't pay any attention to it.
I mean, with super-hearing, he should have HEARD it, right? But like a dog barking or an alarm going off, he might not have been attentive about it? Even if it may have been loud enough that his senses were registering it, responsive or not?
I'm not completely knowledgeable on all of The Boys.
Those are public knowledge in-universe?
Nonetheless, what I said was from a more meta perspective; I worry the show wants to cast aspersions on some groups of people, like patriots, very rural folk, gun rights radicals, etc. In the real world, not all such people are bad, & some are good.
Contrastingly, from an in-universe standpoint, anyone who'd support Homelander knowing he did such things & the ramifications of such would need to get their perspective re-evaluated, definitely.

IIRC, he wasn't unfocused then, he was mad because he lost Huey out of sight. ....Deafened by rage?

I'm starting to think A-Train in the TV series MIGHT be faster than Homelander rn.
I think he just has pretty bad aim against a moving target, or he can't see through something while firing his lasers. Plus, he isn't very strategic.
Smell might be his best sense.
The laser thing probably does mess up his vision, and I think they make people keep bleeding because... idk, I guess he's just not holding the laser there long enough.

Well, it definitely made him faster than his post-heart attack self. I think it's gotta be his body letting down the limits or whatever now that running won't mess him up.

The musical was too loud, so he couldn't focus on Hughie. And him not chasing him or simply frying the ducts just seems like Homelander being lazy/inefficient.
As for not hearing A-Train... Does he actually made the sound? I always thought that eas something for the audience lol. But yeah, I think that very minor PIS, but not big enough to bother me.

I don't know if you are aware, but the calc of Homelander who tanks the explosion was edited and posted by Rusty One in the other discussion thread, and the feat is now 8-A
